Wilson to read letter from Bush 41 on Today show

<http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/7/13/222533/874>

Ambassador Joseph Wilson fired back today at the Right wing Spin Machine...

In a phone discussion early this afternoon, Wilson told The BRAD BLOG in no uncertain terms that "the President should fire Rove."...

As well, he told The BRAD BLOG that he planned to read a letter on air which he received from Bush's father, President George H.W. Bush shortly after an article of his was printed in the San Jose Weekly News, on October 13, 2002, in which Wilson related his concerns about the pitfalls of the approach to Iraq being taken at the time by both the U.N. and the U.S.

In reply to that article, Wilson said that the former President wrote that he had "read your article and I agree with a lot of it."

Additionally, Wilson explained, Bush 41's own National Security Adviser, Brent Scowcroft had contacted him to ask whether he "could walk on over to the White House with the letter" at the time. Which apparently he did.

10. I don't have a link to the letter

we may never get the full text of it. Wilson has characterized G.H.W.Bush's remarks in it, if Daddy Bush has a problem with that summary he'll tell the world I'm sure. Of course, if he wants to complain about Wilson's characterization of his words, he's limited by the fact that Wilson still has the original of the letter.
I'd be surprised if Bush Senior tries to object any. Wilson isn't dumb enough to twist his words around, and unless he has, the Bush family's best approach would be the less said about the letter and the sooner it fades from mention, the better.

Wilson just read some sections from it on Wolf Blitzer's show on CNN. Look for a transcript of it later this evening or tomorrow

5. Why would he read it?
He has better things to do.

Cleaning up the brush on his ranch.
Milking the horse.
Falling off his bike.
Figuring how to eat pretzels.
Strutting like a Nazi with a pole up his ass.

11. Sorry, FreedomAngel82
I started this thread because I thought it was important that Amb. Wilson, per Dailykos, was going to read a letter that he received from Bush 41 in 2003 regarding Iraq.
I checked the transcript of The Today Show this morning only to discover he did not read the letter as part of the interview but I did go ahead and post the link to the show anyway.

Sorry for the confusion on this. But it seemed to me that Bush 41 and Brent Scowcroft were in disagreement with * on Iraq. It seemed newsworthy.
