Nonetheless, the AP's Ron Fournier saw fit to include this in its article, "Republicans Anxiously Watching Rove Saga."
A survey of more than a dozen Republicans who live outside Washington found most siding with the White House. "It's a tempest in a teapot," said Denzil Garrison, former state GOP leader in Oklahoma.
"I have not heard a person bring it up in Michigan," said GOP consultant John Truscott of Lansing, Mich. "It's just not an issue out here." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050714/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/cia_leak_investigation;_ylt=AutUyALby9kfVI9Xj72qQI.s0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3OXIzMDMzBHNlYwM3MDM-I don't know if it's true or not that people outside DC are "siding with the White House" or think it's "not an issue," but I DO know that a survey of 12 Republicans doesn't tell the story.
And if it IS true, all the more reason to send letters to the editors and point out that this is about more than one man doing something bad to one woman -- it's about the bogus Iraq war rationale, it's about national security, it's about our military, our tax dollars, our government, ethical standards, rule of law, etc. etc...
