Discussing This Karl RovE/Plame Thing With A Repug Friend....

I was looking for an analogy. So I came up with the following:

What if your significant other was in the military and in Iraq or Afghanistan. What if they were on a secret mission to locate WMD or insurgents, etc. Now what if somebody (another GI, politician, reporter) indicated that this was going down and put the mission in jeopardy and maybe your significant other was put in danger or killed - what would you think? What if this person did this to get back at you for something?

I likened this to what Rove did to Plame/Wilson.

I also brought up the Geraldo Rivera incident during the initial battles
in Iraq - when Geraldo drew out a map on the ground and was criticized for potentially giving out this units' position. He received a great deal of heat from the Administration as I recall.

Anyway - these examples seemed to help get the message across as to the seriousness of what Rove has done to Plame/Wilson and ultimately the American people and the 'war on terrorism'/'search for WMD'.

Just curious fellow DU'ers - is this something useful?

You might want to also mention that she had contacts in places like Iran & North Korea as well, and part of the reason we're having trouble with those countries now is that our human intel in those areas was so badly damaged by Plame's cover being blown, and the whole CIA operation.

4. Republicans need to decide who their President is.

Is it Rove or is it Bush? Bush is taking a beating over this. If Rove did nothing wrong, why did he allow Bush to send all the kings horses and all the kings men out to protect him? Why didn't Rove just come out an say..."this is exactly what I said...blah, blah, blah". Rove is manipulating the Republicans, making them think this is a Liberal smear. The Democrats didn't do this to Bush nor his admin...Rove did. Instead of rallying around this maniac Rove and protecting him, they would do well to protect the president from Rove. Because he is up to something. Rove knows that Bush is a very loyal man and has used this to his advantage. Rove will take down Bush before he allows himself to be taken down. Most likely Rove has his eye on a "new boy" that he can mold into a president. So he can stay co-president, of course. Hell... it may be a Democrat.
