For the non-ABB crowd, who will you vote for?

Who will the non-ABB group vote for it the "wrong" Dem is nominated?

Just curious, as there are a number of people who say they won't be willing to vote for certain Dems in the GE.

Every state is up for grabs, with the possible exception of Alaska and Texas. Arizona went Clinton in '96, so let's not pretend that some people can vote third party or abstain without it having an effect.

In 2000 I voted Nader. Bush won my state by 10 percent. Nader had less than two percent. Even if all Nader's voters had decided to vote for Gore, it would have been irrelevant. Unless it's neck and neck, I'll vote for the candidate that best represents me. That won't be Bush.

Someone who opposed the IWR, either by voting against it or by vocal opposition if they did not have the opportunity to vote. Someone who wants to change failed domestic policies like the "war on drugs," failed foreign policies like "das U. S. uber alles," and failed fiscal policies like economic rule by corporation. Someone who will abandon the "war on terror" in favor of a struggle for real justice. Someone who's scruples extend beyond their stock portfolios. Someone who'll work for the betterment of all Americans, not just the rich and powerful. Personally, I'd prefer someone who shares my deep distrust of the military as an instrument of civilian policy making.

That leaves a rather narrow field, I'm afraid. There are still a number of dems that I'd be proud to vote for, however.

If the Dem candidate doesn't meet your requirements, who will you vote for and why? And can you live with four more years of Bush if that is the result of your decision? And why?

...and if someone else does, then I'll vote for that someone else. I'm sorry if that doesn't specifically answer your question, but unfortunately the range of possible candidates is not yet specific enough. The greatest likelihood is that I'll vote Green if the Democratic party doesn't field a candidate that meets my standards (and presuming that the Green party does, of course-- it's just too early to say with any greater specificity than that). However, I WILL NOT vote with my nose pinched closed.

Can I live with four more years of Bush* in the WH? Not with any pleasure. But you need to keep two things in mind-- first, that's the way representative democracy works, and I do rather like that, although I'd REALLY like to see IRO voting, and second, if I don't vote for the democratic candidate it will be because that democrat does not represent my interests and ideals as well as another candidate does. Since my personal politics are liberal and very much in the democratic party tradition, that would be a real shame.

The latter would be more likely. Bash me all you want, but I won't vote for Lieberman. Kerry and Gep I would not feel good voting for (because of the IWR) and the only reason I would enthusiastically support Clark is because he would probably beat the pants off of Bush.

I'm ABB all the way. I'll vote Dem, regardless of the nominee. The economy, the poor, the underinsured, the environment, etc... etc... can't take more Bush. Period.

18. I started with..

Gephardt, as I'm over 50 and my eyebrows have faded also. Then I leaned toward Kucinich but not sure america is ready for him yet, then I got hot about Dean in the last few days. Today, I like Clark.

I'll vote for DK in the primary, as he is the only candidate that is offering any real solutions to the problems the country faces. For that reason alone, he will not win. No one who is not status quo is going to win.

If the actual Dem candidate has, in the probably safe Bush state of Kentucky, a realistic chance of winning, I'll likely vote for them, even if I don't like them. That constitues a vote AGAINST Bush, as opposed to a vote for Howard Dean, John Kerry, Wes Clark or whomever. If the Dem candidate's chance are slim or nil, I'll consider third party; electoral votes are all that count.

As someone who will not vote for any of the 4 who for the IWR, if anyone of them are nominated by the Democrat Party, I will be voting Green. That would still as ABB.

I will not support American aggression in Iraq. Why should I vote for someone who supported it? Because he's "not as bad" as the shrub?
Does it make the slaughtered Iraqis not as dead?
