Gannon/Guckert asked a Valerie Plame quesion of McClellan sometime
during 2003/2004 ... a caller to the Ed Schultz show recalled hearing him ask a question about her but couldn't remember exactly when.

Can we get video or transcript info on this (somehow)?

The caller thought Gannon/Guckert asked this question well before any other 'journalist' in the WH Press Corps brought the topic up (as if he had been fed the info by WH insiders)

1. I would start with a search of GOPUSA web site
by using the wayback machine.

I would work from the date when Novaks article appeared

2. Gannon was also the reporter who confirmed Novak's contention
that her identity was known by many in the beltway. Interestingly, few others ever said this. Therefore, a "plant" even then.

3. SEPT 30 2003 ...................
The White House press briefing is quite contentious on September 30, 2003 with reporter after reporter hammering away at Scott McClellan about who knew what when and what was being done about the leak. And then Jeff Gannon asks his question:

Q Scott, a quote coming out of this controversy is that the real story is why Ambassador Wilson was chosen for this mission. Has the White House asked the CIA why they've sent somebody who was so vehemently opposed to the administration's position on Iraq?

MR. McCLELLAN: Not that I'm aware of. We made it clear that we weren't aware of his trip before we saw it in the media reports, and that still stands.

4. Jeff protests a bit too much here...
Today he's saying that The agency’s insistence that Plame was still a covert agent is equally incredible.
http://www.jeffgannon.com/

but that's not what he said in 2003:

According to his Talon News story, Gannon asked Wilson about "an internal government memo prepared by U.S. intelligence personnel a meeting in early 2002 where your wife, a member of the agency for clandestine service working on Iraqi weapons issues, suggested that you could be sent to investigate the reports."

5. Here's little Scottie himself on that day...
"Simply no truth to that suggestion" when asked about Rove's involvement. :woohoo:

You can read or watch the entire press briefing here:
