from a client who was convicted of laundering money using precious metals. Aside from the astonishing appearance of impropriety, it is specifically for a lawyer to accept payment in a form that he knows to have been involved in a criminal transaction.

OK, so the joke was a little obscure...

It's interesting. Rove wouldn't give Cooper specific leave to talk to the grand jury for nearly two years. That's what's taken the investigation of this thing so long.
