Ohh - Rove just gets lamer and lamer by the day ...

Here's the latest from the Washington Post:

"White House official Karl Rove indirectly confirmed the identity of a CIA operative for Robert D. Novak the week before the columnist named her and revealed her connection to an administration critic, a lawyer involved in the case said last night.

The lawyer, who has firsthand knowledge of the conversations between Rove and prosecutors, said President Bush's deputy chief of staff has told investigators that he first learned about the operative, Valerie Plame, from a journalist.

"I don't think that he has a clear recollection," the lawyer said. "He's told them that he believes he may have heard it from a journalist." Asked who it was, the lawyer said, "I don't think he's able to identify that, or to identify precisely when he may have heard it.""

Rove is lying through his freaking teeth. And who is this lawyer supposed to be when no lawyers are allowed in the Grand Jury? It must be Rove's lawyer - and if so, why doesn't he just talk in the open since he's allowed to do so?

This is the lamest excuse for a leak that I've ever heard of. And I'm not sure Rove is off the hook. Rove was in a position to know that CIA operatives are classified. So, even if Novak told him Valerie Plame was a CIA operative, it was against the law to pass that information along to Cooper. In addition, it was illegal for him to even say 'I'd heard that,' since that would be interpreted exactly as it was - confirmation that she was CIA.

This is all just a bunch of bunk and spin to get Rove off the hook.

I'm totally disgusted.

3. Maybe the lawyer doesnt remember who told him

that Rove might have heard it from some journalist who Rove doesnt remember. Maybe the lawyer doesnt remember who he himself is.
What if Rove suddenly comes out with a bump on his head and says he doesnt remember his own name or what planet he comes from?

5. If his lawyer can't keep the story straight how is old Turd head suppose

to. His lawyer should offer to put him "on the box" lie detector if he so believes him. Right now there are several dozen stories out there of what went on, that tells me that no one wants to tell the truth.
