OK DU'ers..Did anyone predict the "Rove is a hero whistle blower" spin?
I thought there would lots of nitpicking and trying to parse out whether he "knowingly" outed the agent.

But, praising the guy as a freaking hero...I just never seem to be able to recognize that this gang will say anything, and truth doesn't exist.

However, I'll be some of our more intrepid DU'ers anticipated this Orwellian tack. If you are one of those who knew this would be the spin, will you please tell me what to expect next.

I've spent too much valuable time in :wtf: mode since yesterday, because I just didn't see this coming.

Thanks in advance to my prescient DU colleagues. MKJ

4. Good job realpolitik, without shame is a great description
I have this flaw when it comes to foreseeing the "talking points" that come from the WH...

I keep thinking truth will factor into at least a part of their responses...

In other words, I ascribe to them qualities that I, as well as almost anyone I know, possess, like integrity, truthfulness (generally) and clear personal beliefs.

I'm starting to believe that I, personally, can never have a complete understanding of the depths to which they'll sink.
Scary. MKJ

2. Can't take any credit
for the predicting "Rove is a Hero" theme....all I ever knew was that Rove would use some of his favorite techniques which included

the ever-popular Slime and Deny technique

the oldie-but goodie Democrats are Desparate theme

and coming soon: Criticizing Rove gives aid and comfort to the enemy

3. No, even I never thought they would lie that blatantly
I assumed they would stick to "he said, she said," and no crime was committed and so on. I knew they would smear Wilson, who is irrelevent to this case, but trying to turn treason into heroism is a breathtaking leap into a whole new level of propaganda.

6. Didn't predict it, but I believe it is a CYA political tactic for '06/'08.

The shrieking fascist banshees know they can't influence Fitzgerald, except against them, by these tactics. It's all spin to make Rove and whoever else in the cabal, martyrs. They'll use this, along with any dirt they can fling at Fitzgerald, to keep their mobster flunkies deluded through the next elections. They know they'll lose the few rational Repubs, but they probably figure they are gone anyway, due to the magnitude of this scandal. I do predict that * will have to appoint a very extreme, anti-abortion, SCOTUS justice. The worker rats need raw meat to keep them from abandoning ship. Treason at the WH might be too much even for the most hardened Rethug. That is without a generous compensation for their "loyalty".

9. I honestly did not predict it
I've been busy watching the "nobody cares" spin.

They kept saying "nobody cares," until people started to care. When people started to care, the W. Times prints a story about how Republican "operatives on the ground" say that none of the "rank and file" care about the Plame case.

Message: "If nobody cares, Mr. Lazy-Boy, YOU'RE not supposed to care -- get it?"

Watching the GOP spin machine is like watching a group of naked, flaming, six-armed porno clowns. It's quite a show.

I didn't see this one coming, though.

11. The best way to predict Republican spin
is to take the truth and determine what the exact opposite of that truth is. Repeat as necessary.
