Are We Getting Steam-Rolled Again????
I'm almost to the point where I don't even want to check in with DU anymore!

EVERY single time we seem to get some traction on something, THE subject gets changed or "Fuzzed"! So what about DSM??? What about the War??? What about Impeachment???

I get all hyped up that something will happen, then "Poof" we get MORE OF THE SAME!!!

Where the F--K are OUR Representatives & Senators??? I certainly can't appeal to mine down here in Florida!!

I'm so SICK & TIRED, and TIRED & SICK!!

2. Well, our senators tried to revoke Rove's security clearance
yesterday, but the Repukes voted against the security measure because they are all traitorous political hacks.

Hang in there.. Fitzgerald is still doing his job. Just ignore the GOP spin, it was inevitable.

3. Another example
When's the last time you heard anything about Tom Delay? I thought he was done for, and now it seems the MSM has all but forgotten him.

14. All the Tom DeLay stuff will resurface come election time
He'll have to own up to all that when it comes time for him to convince the people of Sugar Land to let him keep his job. And of course, much of the midterm focus will be on him, so expect to hear a lot about Hot Tub Tom in '06.

4. Come sit by me.
I posted a similar rant last week. I'll go crazy if we move on to another "scandal of the week" with little to nothing to show for it.

I'm also double-Bushwhacked in Florida. The only democrats I have representing my interests are the county tax collector and Senator Bill Nelson. That's it!! City Council locked up by Republicans. County Commission locked up by Republicans. School board is non-partisan but it's Republican. State Rep, State Senator, House Rep, Supervisor of Elections, County Sheriff, you name it. All Republicans.

AAAGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a little primal scream action going on there.

8. Well... I've Often Said i Live In The TRIFECTA Of America!!
Katherine Harris is MY representative! And of course, you obviously KNOW the rest!

I feel totally useless and helpless! I WANT to go to D.C. on September 24th and am hoping to find others to go with me, HOWEVER maybe I should re-think it!

11. Ouch!
That's rubbing salt in the wound. Well here's hoping Dragon Lady gets creamed in the senate race so you'll be rid of her.

I would dearly love to go to DC September 24th but I don't think it's very likely. *sigh*

23. I Just Saw This....
I THOUGHT she was a "goner" the last time around. But the machine was working for her then!

Even here in this county, and I did a LOT of campaigning, her name wasn't high on the list! We thought she would go down, but a funny thing happened on the way to the voting booth!

We weren't allowed paper ballots, EVEN after requesting them them legally!

24. I am absolutely convinced that more people showed up at the polls
in Florida intending to cast ballots for Kerry and Castor. The close Bush and Martinez wins are totally bogus as far as I'm concerned. I didn't follow the Harris race, but if they'll steal these two, why not another? I am firmly convinced Florida has been hijacked lock, stock and barrel.

10. It's all pieces of the puzzle
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:22 AM by EarlG
We've known since day one that the media has a problem with holding this administration accountable. Anyone remember the completely fake "trashing of the White House" from January 2001?

Yes, it gets frustrating when things like DeLay and the DSM disappear off the radar, but it's all pieces of the puzzle. After all, this Rove scandal has come up because of something that happened two years ago. Sometimes, when we're so plugged into the day-to-day political goings-on, we find it difficult to take a step back and look at the big picture.

Ultimately the combined effect of all this information - Rove, the DSM, Schiavo, Gannon, DeLay, Iraq, etc. - is to give all the people who don't follow politics on a minute-by-minute basis the growing impression that this administration and their shills in Congress are undisputably corrupt. It's a snowball effect. The Tories were in power in the UK for 18 years, but it was the "death by a thousand cuts" over the years between 1992 and 1997 that did them in, once the public realized that they simply couldn't be trusted.

These things take time to sink into the national consciousness. It seems that the Rove story may be the final push that the snowball needs to get rolling - but it may not be. Either way, looking at Bush's recent approval ratings the public's impression of this administration is definitely getting worse and worse.

be able to comprehend the full picture, especially if they can't wrap their brains around a single piece. I am beyond frustrated with the number of people I have had to educate about the ramifications of the Plame leak.

It also feels like one piece is being picked up and looked at but then set aside again. When are we going to see the pieces begin to lock together...and stay there?

Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:32 AM by EarlG
I guess "puzzle" wasn't the best analogy. Perhaps this is a better one: the Republicans are dumping piles of manure in America's front yard. Sooner or later America is going to smell it, and while they might not know what it is or how it got there, they're going to know that it smells like shit.

:)

16. Actually I thought puzzle was a pretty decent analogy.
But then I'm a conspiracy theorist and I think all of this Republican manure is connected. ;)

17. I Don't Want to Burst Bubbles...
But I'm a Boomer, and I NEVER seen anything like this!!

Okay, so we have "instant gratification" media going on here, but it just doesn't seem to end! These people should have been behind bars by now! And I still hear this IDIOTS on C-Span saying.... "I support Bush 100%, blah, blah, blah, blah"! It's maddening!

I don't suppose I'll give up, but I'm sure frustrated! I don't like the word HATE, but it sure crosses my mind a lot these days!

This isn't America anymore! I walk around saying karma, karma, karma ALL the time, it's NOT working!!!!

Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:37 AM by ClassWarrior
My working premise is this: Quit looking at the crystal ball, trying to discern the future, and instead inflict the greatest possible political damage at this moment to the criminals in DC. Guerilla tactics. We only make ourselves sick by dwelling on "what might be."

Never Give Up.

26. The left needs to hop off the scandal ambulance chasing tactics...
and start honing a REAL message for 2006 and beyond. I am not getting excited or irritated by any of this crap, because it is a great distraction from what we really need to be doing. That is what is unhinging ME!!! Do we not recall what happened to the repubs in the 98 mid term elections??? Because of all the scandal mongering, instead of message parsing...they LOST seats.
