And they know it. That is what we're being set up for.

Rove isn't going anywhere. He's suckled at the BFEE's teat for many years. He knows where the bodies are buried. You don't "fire" a guy like Rove, you suicide him or he disappears. But fire the man with all your secrets at your own peril!

No, Rove is being set up for martyrdom. If Bush "fires" him, it will further trump all news stories related to DSM, the war, the economy, Bush's behind-the-scenes machinations on SS deform, etc. It will be 24/7 news for a week, then weeks of The New White House coverage after that.

The right wing will trip all over themselves to say how Bush's "firing" of his best friend and confidante and mentor, etc, demonstrates that he is fair and honest, incorruptible, makes the tough calls, is fearless, resolute, honest, and oh, did I say honest?

It will be worse AFTER Rove, because we've come to blame everything on Rove. With the scapegoat gone, the right wing will further yammer on about how the bad influences over Bush are gone, and that now the White House really IS fair and honest. Honest!

Just you watch. We are being set up sooooooooo big-time. The Martyrdom of Karl Rove will only cement Bush's status as a resolute tough-guy among his fawning minions.

1. interesting, very interesting Atman
I think you are right, unfortunately. Too many times we do not look beyond and see all the ramifications. I like the way your mind works.

3. I'll bethe first to dig into
Crow Pie if Bush actually fires Rove.

It will not happen. Bush would resign first.
