AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has apologized for inviting as a Jewish representative to a bill-signing ceremony a messianic "rabbi" who delivered a prayer in Jesus' name.
....
After learning that Mr. Stone had been included as a representative of the Jewish community, members of the Anti-Defamation League sent a letter to Mr. Perry complaining about the venue and Mr. Stone's participation. Mr. Perry met June 29 with seven Jewish officials at his office.
Alan Greenspan, a member of the executive committee of the American Jewish Committee in Dallas, said the governor told the group "he was as surprised as anybody else that this person was not a true representative of the Jewish religious community."
Linda Burger, executive director of the organization's Houston office, said the leaders were heartened by the governor's apology.
"He said somebody on his staff messed up," she said. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/071605dntexapology.f0205f.htmlRe: bolded line- that must be in the repub dictionary under "apology".
