Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't job loss and unemployment a major source of friction in marriages that often leads to divorce. Don't many marriages fail due to financial problems that couples face. I do know couples who have divorced after enduring long periods of unemployment but, I don't know of a single marriage that has failed because some homosexual couple got married. If we want to "Preserve The Institution Of Marriage" in America, wouldn't we be further ahead if, instead of hatefully harassing homosexuals, we guaranteed jobs to all Americans? When unemployment becomes a problem we could put people to work doing jobs like; inspecting our roads, buildings and bridges; hire more inspectors in our meat plants, food stores and restaurants; and have more people checking the accounting of companies to try to cut the fraud that costs workers their employment and retirement savings. I think there are a lot of ways people could be put to work, by the government, to improve our security and insure our standard of living. Then, when the economy picks up, and there is demand in the private sector for those employees, the government should cut back as needed to keep the economy rolling. When the Republicans talk about preserving marriage, they only mean it in a hateful way. We can do better.
