Welcome to the USSR
Just as the arms race bankrupted the USSR (and partially, the U.S.A.), so Iraq is going to bankrupt the U.S.

Osama REALLY won!

"Osama (bin Laden) doesn't have to win; he will just bleed us to death," said Michael Scheuer, a former counterterrorism official at the CIA who led the pursuit of bin Laden and recently retired after writing two books critical of the Clinton and Bush administrations. "He's well on his way to doing it."

1. That's right ya know. I wonder how many people actually realize that?
Notice, I didn't say PUbs, I said people! All Americans should hear this and be very concerned!

Unfortunately, there are still way too many wealthy people who can't see a problem.

I personally don't want to suffer a depression so they will see the truth!

4. You've got that righ!
Huge deficit, stagnant wages, perverse economy -- the rich get richer the rest get poorer...

Meanwhile, China is busy buying the U.S.

5. To some extent, this is true...
but as one of my college instructors pointed out, the national debt isn't balanced against our assets...and we still have plenty of assets.

Get these loonies out of the WH and someone with a little sense INTO the WH, and we might still pull our collective asses out of the wok.

6. True enough.
It's a little less scary when you think of it that way. But dire nonetheless.

8. Mythsaje, 1O9 Trillion is US wealth
how much is the debt?

BTW, about eighty of those trilions are loans, IIRC.

so how does the natl debt stack up against the wealth, ... including some consideration of the eighty loaned trillions?

How ought one to consider all those figures.. are we bankrupt?

PS ask your college instructor .. what is the world GDP and wealth? cant find it anywhere.
thanks

9. It's been some 13 years
or so since I saw the guy, so I can't ask him anything now...LOL

But I think he was also talking about stuff they don't have any way to measure, physical assets such as land, historic landmarks, natural resources still untapped, and labor value.
