Chris Matthews and Howard Fineman predict indictments ...
Katty Kay, Clarence Page and Sam Donaldson say no.

Just saw this on Chris Matthews NBC show when switching from Face the Nation during a commercial.

1. Remember..
There's one law for Democrats and NO law for Republicans.

3. playing an expectations game
Rove defenders are hanging their hopes on no indictments, and lowering the standard for Rove: if no indictments, then this is a non-story.

Dems are wisely focusing on the true standard for Rove or any such high-level official. Even if there are no indictments, Rove committed a serious breach of trust, and so did Bush by tolerating it.

4. At the least, Rove
will get indicted for perjury.

In the meantime, you don't get a bench of judges to agree to putting a NYT's reporter in jail unless you've got a rock solid case. The case is going to bring down the whole gang and a few 'journalists' along with them.

6. very possible
but no one knows more than a fraction of a percent about where Fitzgerald is headed. He's got a case, that's for sure, but we have no idea what it is or who it's against.

Another very possible theory people are talking about, and which would be more damaging than any case against Rove, is that Dick Cheney is the target. Cheney's heartburn might be seen to support that theory.

5. The more I read about Fitzgerald the more convinced I am that
something will come of this. One attorney described his paperwork to secure an indictment as "breathtaking" in terms of detail. He is relentless. I think that there will be indictments too as I do not believe that Fitzgerald would be pursuing this case with such intensity if he did not believe someone had broken the law.

7. One attorney said his paperwork to secure an indictment as "breathtaking"
Does this mean that indictments are already prepared and sitting there waiting to be delivered?

11. Is Chris Matthews finally back?
I didn't catch Hardball today, but he seems to have flown the coop since Rovegate became a story...

Is he on an extended vacation.. or is he back at the helm?
