"Bush dumb like a fox" (in my local paper)

Ugh!!!

"That Dumb President Sure Can Win'Em

Editor, Times-Dispatch: President Bush sure is dumb like a fox. The liberal Democrats say all kinds of mean, nasty, ugly things about him. Yet he somehow makes them look small and beats them in elections. The bullies in the media call him a moron or pigheaded. But he somehow gets us all to think about and seek solutions to our problems. The intellectual elites attack everything he tries to do and loudly wish we still had President Clinton. But the only thing most folks remember about Clinton was Monica Lewinsky.

The terrorists who attacked us on 9/11 thought they could scare us by murdering civilians. But President Bush stood tough and rallied the world to fight the war on terror. Now the terrorists are getting their butts kicked in their own back yard by our best fighters. The vocal minority in the world community might condemn our military and the ongoing war. But the silent majority throughout the world cheers the brave Americans who have liberated millions of the previously oppressed. In fact, they now want us to do more for Africa.

Finally, when impatient domestic critics try to lose this war and act ashamed of America, Bush stands strong and challenges us to remember why our aging parents were called the greatest generation. He sure can mangle the spoken word when asked questions at a press conference, but so can the rest of us. It's his actions, not his words, that make him like a fox. Charles R. Smith. richmond."

2. What kind of reality does he live in?

The "terrorists" are getting their butts kicked? What kind of reality is this idiot living in?

How have we liberated millions when the Iraq/United States is sending it's citizens to jail just for speaking critically of the government? How have we liberated millions when it is no longer safe to walk outside of their own houses? How have we liberated millions by blowing up and destroying entire cities?

3. Projection is a powerful thing....
Bush (much like Reagan) is largely an empty suit being directed by others.
He also enjoys nearly complete protection by the press (who are not, by
the way the ones calling him a moron. That would be us). He presents
guys like this letter writer the opportunity to see what he wants to see.
That doesn' make it reality.

4. Charles R. Smith ...of richmond, is just as smart as George Bush
Charles R. Smith..of richmond, is one of the reasons so many counties in the world think we are all a pack of war-mongering hillbillies.

Charles R. Smith.. of richmond, will be the first to blame the Democrats when his "Master" runs up the national debt, destroys the educational system and causes half of the population to be without health-care....and jobs.

6. That dumb fox sure can lose 'em

Mr. Smith needs to return to reality. The reality is this. While the fox was out raiding small Iraqi henhouses, the Russian Bear and Chinese Dragon got together and formed their own military alliance. They have even rattled the nuclear sabre in recent days. Oh, my, we became so scary that trading partners and allies are forming military alliances against us. Now, that's SMART. Not.

My Dad was a veteran, and a member of that "Greatest Generation". He was a military intelligence guy ... crypto collection and analysis. He told me long ago prisoner abuses happened. That disgusted everybody. Guys who abused prisoners were likely to get beat up when found "out on the town". Why? Not just because no one wanted our guys to receive that kind of treatment ... we already knew they were. It was because Americans in those days REFUSED TO BE LIKE THE BAD GUYS. The ultimate kind of defiance in the losing days of WWII ... we're not backing down, and we're NOT gonna BE like YOU!

Georgie Boy's philosophy seems to be, "You guys are barbaric animals, but we can be better at that than you."

Where has that spirit of righteous defiance gone? What kind evil spirit has replaced it? Well, the kind of evil spirit that thinks that the stupid meanness of the Bushitas is cool and nifty.

We are the spoiled brat children of a people who stood against the Big War Machines of Fascism, who defied and defeated nearly overwhelming odds. It is time to grow up, and part of that is to choose better heroes.

Any mature society, for example, would recognize that Eisenhower was both a better leader and a better man than Reagan ... and would understand instinctively why.

9. Amazing that we have to be patient about our troops dying in Iraq
and Iraqis watching their country destroyed, but in 2000, we had to hurry up and resolve the presidential election results or risk an international crisis.

10. It doesn't hurt Bush that he has a group that will lie, cheat, and even
worse for him. He couldn't have won shit without Karl Rove. He has no scruples, and is full of hubris. His legacy will be that he is the worst president in US History. Worse than Nixon, worse than Harding, worse that Grant.

Worst. President. Ever. Period.

11. Junior: the patron saint of the timid and stupid
Nope, none a them thinkin' folk get it: he's MANLY. The rest of the world loves him, even though all polls show them hating him so resoundingly that there's nary a sliver of non-disgust.

Just make it up, that's the way.

The hero worship of this man is the rage of the sub-mediocre, and it is laden with all the ugliness of mankind's history: racism, sexism, xenophobia and the joy of siding with the winning team. Shame on these assholes; the very heart of their "philosophy" is the use of unfair leverage to fuck everybody else. Duped by their own joy of besting others, they carry on supporting those who will fuck them when the need arises.
