Wingnuts going after Mc Cain
http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/mld/sunnews/news/opinion/12147959.htm

Any surprise?

"McCain to Star in Boob Raunch Fest," read the headline in the Drudge Report. I don't even know what that is, but it certainly sounds like something that someone who's running in a process dominated by Christian conservatives would prefer not to be caught in.

snip

But McCain isn't just another senator. He is currently - according to the polls - the "front-runner" in the Republican race for the 2008 nomination, although Republicans are sharply divided as to whether that can hold in a process dominated by party regulars and Christian conservatives.

1. Good. I hope they continue to go after him.
He would be tough for any Democrat to beat in 2008. I hope the wing nuts take him out of the race for us.

20. Crazy McCain
I agree. I think he may have the worst temperment of any potential candidate to be president. To me he comes across as someone constantly trying to keep his anger in check. A bigger warmonger I can't imagine. He must be a fool to have been in this movie.

5. These people are NOT conservatives.
They are radicals. They are fascists. They conserve nothing.

13. Radical (American Heritage Dictionary)
Definition 2:

Carried to the farthest limit; extreme; sweeping: radical social change.

Definition 3:

Favoring or effecting revolutionary changes, as in political organization.

I don't use words loosely or lightly.

17. inaccurate ("American Heritage" hmm)
Definition 2 is inaccurate. It's "from the root", so it's fundamental, not extreme per se.

Definition 3 is associated with politics; 1913 Webster says "especially such changes as are intended to level class inequalities."

Perhaps turning "radical" into a dirty word was part of the plan all along, Orwellian newspeak and all.

3.  Mccain
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 07:24 PM by DanCa
I used to respect Mccain however "Mr. Integrity" has disappointed me lately. He has remained mum on treasongate and the whole indian affairs buisness that he is assigned to leaves alot to be desired. He also let Kerry out to dry when the swift boat goons were lobbing gernades at the lt.

I will say this about mccain though. I am impressed by his war record and he is the best that t he gop has to offer at this point.
Its just that the more you dig up on him the less you like legislative wise.

4. Why run a moderate...
or what passes for one in today's GOP, when you've been able to "select" a christian conservative twice. If the sheeple don't wake up, that's what we're up against.

For starters..

Left = Progressive. :)

~A person who actively favors or strives for progress toward better conditions, as in society or government.

~Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.

~Open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

~Pro-environment. Pro-Choice. Pro-Education. Pro-American! :patriot:
- - - - - - - - -

Right = The opposite of 99% of the above.

19. And Far Right ...

The Far Right believe that all of this "so-called progress" just makes things worse.

They believe the benefits of children having a stay-at-home mother outweigh any losses suffered by the mother in an unhappy marriage.

They believe the end results of de-segregation, etc did not justify the civil disobedient means that brought these social advances (which, in public, they now embrace as advances regardless of what they may feel in private).

They believe that economic ups and downs are inevitable. They insist it is purely coincidence that there were seven or eight economic depressions during 150 years of US history prior to the advent of government interference in the economy versus ZERO such depressions since. And even if it is not, then that we would be better off with the occasional depression clearing out the dross allowing for greater leaps forward.

11. Another example of Rethugs eating their own for Je$u$
Not the real Jesus, mind you.

He was a long-haired homeless dude from a dysfunctional family (Joe and Mary never married) with some mumbo jumbo tricks and having a habit of hanging out with whores and lonely fishermen. They'd hate the REAL Jesus. He would be a kike homo with some new age horseshit...hell, he'd be a damn commie!

Rethugs and conservatives in leadership roles over time in general have proven to be closeted self-hating homosexuals with a happy tendency toward sadistic behavior on ALL levels. They hate freedom. They hate diversity. They hate...and hate...and hate...

The fact that they are demonizing McCain goes back to the aforementioned tendencies that the scumbag Kal Rove has proven again and again. They love him. They'd love to fuck his ass if they could....shamefully of course.

That's because they are sadistic heathens that hide behind the Flag and their idea of Je$u$, a corporate homophobic warmonger...

Surely a misleading headline.
