Reid Says No To "Conservative Crusader"
In the Saturday Radio Address, George Bush laid out the Republican strategy to push through his Supreme Court nomination. While stating he is going to nominate someone who represents the mainstream, he is quick to point to the Republican vote for Clinton nominees, Ginsburg and Breyer. I’m not sure why he would need to do this, if he planned on nominating someone from the mainstream.

Harry Reid, The Democratic Radio Address:

“…We need an independent thinker who will follow the Constitution, not a knee-jerk conservative crusader who will march in lock-step to the tune of partisan pressure groups.

But radical right activists are hungry for something else. President Bush's far right allies are spending millions of dollars to pressure him to pick not just a conservative, but an extreme conservative...someone out of the mainstream...someone who will impose their narrow partisan agenda from the perch of the highest court in the land...instead of faithfully interpreting the law..."

I love that "knee-jerk conservative crusader", lol.

5. Ginsburg and Breyer were both nominated after considerable...
consultation with the Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Is Bush going to extend the same privilege to the Democrats on said committee? Somehow, I think the answer will be... No!
