This is from the "Opinion" section of the Clarion-Ledger (Mississippi).

Dems really out to get Karl Rove

The Democrats are really going after presidential adviser Karl Rove, accusing him of outing CIA agent Valerie Plame ("Bush mum on Rove, but White House says he has support," July 14). It isn't clear if Plame was a covert operative.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid and his puppets John Kerry and Hillary Clinton — nodding her agreement at the press conference — demand a criminal investigation into the Rove matter. In fact, they are already labeling him guilty without an investigation.

Turn about is fair play. Sandy Berger was appointed by the Clinton administration to vet highly classified documents produced before 9-11. Berger did some lifting of these classified documents from the National Archives ("Berger to plead guilty to taking classified material," April 1). Berger is already a little more than hefty, but with pockets and pants full of papers he looks like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. I personally think that stuffing highly classified documents down one's trousers and into coat pockets warrants a criminal investigation. In other words, I smell a big rat and a cover-up.

The leftists know that their power is waning steadily day by day, and so they are trying to get to President Bush any way they can. The leftists know that they need to conjure up a story to embarrass the president to coincide with his decisions on his appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court. The Democrats are deliberately soiling Rove's reputation, yet Berger gets a slap on the hand and a $10,000 fine. Where is the fairness here? Stand up, Republicans, and let's defend our ideals.

4. Sandy Berger???? Isn't that story several years old?
If I remember right, Sandy finally did plead guilty, even though he only took copies and all originals are still in tact, and was fined. Case closed...I think!

What's that got to do with Rove/Bush?

8. Some fundie lady at work...
brought up the Sandy Berger thing during a discussion of the Rove-Plame scandal. I said, "That's the best you could come up with?"
They're pretty desperate when it comes to a counter-argument on all this, and most things. She's proof positive that the hardcore Bush supporters are completely mindless zombies.

9. It's Mississippi...
It's not like one letter from one kool-aid drinker in Mississippi is going to do much harm. I bet the two or three dozen people who read it probably all responded nodded their heads and said "ay-yep".

This "Janet Coalter" must listen to 3 hours of Rush and then 3 hours of Hannity every weekday.

10. Plus three hours of ANN "Coalter"...LMAO!

Doesn't it seem a little suspicious that the piece was written by someone named "Coalter"...no, wait. Ann spells her name "Coulter."

Phew! Had me worried for a minute there.

13. How childish can you get?
Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that Sandy Berger did abuse his top secret clearance, and was given just a slap on the wrist.

Does that justify what KKKarl Rove did?? (Answer: no)

It reminds me of when I was seven years old, and my mother caught me soaping the neighbor's windows. "But Joey (my brother) did it!!!"

Mom didn't buy this kind of rationalization. Neither should we.

15. The most amazing (and, perhaps, depressing)
aspect of this whole hoo-raw is that these mental defectives actually believe the tripe they are spewing, for the most part. Some of them, I'm convinced, are well aware of their internal inconsistency and are simply evil manipulators. Others are too disconnected from any sort of analytical capability to be able to recognize false-to-fact. Some can't see that there are multiple levels of loyalty, responsibility, and accountability, with the responsibility for society, as a whole, outweighing that of group, self, or local community.
The remainder seem to be the sort who happily consume, as revealed truths, the same crap balls they produce. My current reasoning has it that they believe they are in possession af THE revealed truth and, ala G W Boosh, those "truths" must never be subject to second thought or questioning. Re-thinking not allowed!
Unfortunately, the mental structure of the "great unwashed" is such that these inflexibly neurotic creatures can be elevated to positions wherein they are capable of influencing, literally, millions of the robot brained, nationally and even internationally.
Happily, to the pain of fundamental psychotics, the tide seems to be turning, fringe sheeple awakening, and public discourse including words like "criminal," "manipulating," and "lying," in reference to the current-idiots in-charge.
