"Citizen's Arrest! Citizen's Arrest!"
after reading waxman's letter to bushie i think we all should make a "citizen's arrest" just like barney and gomer did in the andy griffith show.

piece of waxman's letter:

"Your new standard is not consistent with your obligations to enforce Executive Order 12958, which governs the protection of national security secrets. The executive order states: "Officers and employees of the United States Government ... shall be subject to appropriate sanctions if they knowingly, willfully, or negligently ... disclose to unauthorized persons information properly classified."3 Under the executive order, the available sanctions include "reprimand, suspension without pay, removal, termination of classification authority, loss or denial of access to classified information, or other sanctions."4

Under the executive order, you may not wait until criminal intent and liability are proved by a prosecutor. Instead, you have an affirmative obligation to take "appropriate and prompt corrective action."5 And the standards of proof are much different. A criminal violation of the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, which Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald is investigating, requires a finding that Mr. Rove "intentionally disclose" the identity of a covert agent.6 In contrast, the administrative sanctions under Executive Order 12958 can be imposed without a finding of intent. Under the express terms of the executive order, you are required to impose administrative sanctions – such as removal of office or termination of security clearance – if Mr. Rove or other officials acted "negligently" in disclosing or confirming information about Ms. Wilson's identity."

let me just repeat this one line:
"you have an affirmative obligation to take "appropriate and prompt corrective action."

so, if he doesn't do anything about rove i say: CITIZEN'S ARREST! CITIZEN'S ARREST!

("Gomer is outraged when Barney, dressed in civilian clothes, gives him a ticket for making a U-turn. Barney imperiously declares that he is within his rights to make a citizen's arrest. When Barney makes the same illegal traffic maneuver, it is Gomer's turn to shout "Citizen's array-est! Citizen's array-est!"-thereby starting the ball rolling for a clash of egos which culminates in Barney's resignation.")

8. Laugh out loud funny...because it's true.
From The Mount Pilot Gazette, July 10, 2005:

Mayberry -- Clad in tin foil, a small group of internet conspiracy theorists cornered several escaped convicts out at the old Johnson place by Willow Lake. Without assistance from local authorities, they were able to stuff bags of shredded ballots from last November's election into the chimney and smoke out the fugitive desperadoes.

Marshals from Raleigh arrived late that evening to take the culprits to a high-security city jail. "Unless these brave citizens had taken their role in preserving our rule of law as their own responsibility, there's no telling how much danger the citizens of Mayberry, and Mt. Pilot, and Siler City might have been in. They are shining examples of true civic-minded people," said an official with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

9. nice "article" and here's what i found!
"In the most crime ridden spot in the country, our nation's capitol, District of Columbia Law 23- 582(b) reads as follows:

(b) A private person may arrest another -

(1) who he has probable cause to believe is committing in his presence -

(A) a felony, or

(B) an offense enumerated in section 23-581 (a)(2); or

(2) in aid of a law enforcement officer or special policeman, or other person authorized by law to make an arrest.

(c) Any person making an arrest pursuant to this section shall deliver the person arrested to a law enforcement officer without unreasonable delay. (July 29, 1970, 84 Stat. 630, Pub. L. 91-358, Title II, § 210(a); 1973 Ed., § 23-582; Apr. 30, 1988, D.C. Law 7-104, § 7(e), 35 DCR 147.)"
http://www.constitution.org/grossack/arrest.htm

now how do we go about finding out what is in section 23-581(a)(2) to determine if breaking executive order 12958 falls in this category?

12.  The "Mayberry Mafia" was what one disillusioned
W appointee called KR and his band of thugs as he quit the regime. I can't remember his name but I think he was W's outreach to religious groups staffer. At any rate thanks for the funny memory and you were
right on target with the reference.
