PAYDIRT! Hogan &Hartson & DIEBOLD
Edited on Tue Jul-19-05 08:12 PM by Joanne98

Disability Rights Council of Greater Washington, et al. v. D.C. Board of Elections (D.D.C. No. 1:01CV01884RMU)

Voting equipment that permits independent, secret voting for voters who are blind or have manual impairments is readily available. The District, however, recently chose to purchase inaccessible equipment, and for many years failed to ensure accessible polling places. In August, 2002, the Project and Hogan & Hartson negotiated a settlement that requires the District, by the 2004 Primary, to have at least one accessible voting machine in every precinct, and to ensure accessible polling places

Remember how the blind were working Diebold, first with the ATMS, in this lawsuit it looks like they sued DC to force Diebold E-voting machines. I wish Andy was here. He's remember this!

1. I'm sorry but I really don't see anything wrong with this decision
There are other things to talk about with Roberts... Roe v. Wade and his membership in the Federalist society.

3. I don't understand what you mean by "pay dirt"--although it
wouldn't surprise me at all to find corrupt deals involving disabled advocacy groups and electronic voting. I picked up somewhere that some of the disabled groups were funded by electronic voting machine companies. Are the disabled crazy? Could anything be worse for them than the Bush Cartel and rightwing corporate shills, who are looting our government, intend to loot Social Security, are profiteering on health care and driving costs through the roof, and cutting all social benefits? It's beyond me to understand how they can support voting machine companies that are owned and controlled by Bushites, and who use secret, proprietary programming code to tabulate all our votes! It must be corruption of the leadership, who are failing to serve the true interests of the disabled.

6. The blind had a kick-back scheme going with Diebold.
It's probably on Scoop's website. I got to go to bed now. I'll let you guys work on it. I'm thinking Roberts=Florida=Bush v Gore= payback+ payback again. Maybe it's nothing but if we could connect Roberts to voting fraud that would be great.

4. Another
The Advance Team
What kind of pro bono project brings Hogan & Hartson's Joseph Bell to the tiny island nation of São Tomé e Principe? The kind that will help an African nation deal constructively with its newfound oil wealth.

5. Nominated!
Because if you spend all your time on Dread Pirate Roberts, stories like this can easily slip under the radar. Look how hard Bush is trying to make the Rove thing go away - he moved up his announcement for Roberts two weeks to try and take the heat off of Turd Blossom.
