Should The Age of Roberts Be Part of The Public Discussion?
I'm not sure how old this guy is, but he looks like he'll be around for the next half of a century. Does this freak anyone else out?

1. His record is much more of a concern
than his age

3. My point is that his record will go on...and on...and on
Bush will not only put a conservative on the bench, but one that will not be going anywhere anytime soon.

4. I don't agree, they both are important factors
he is young and therefore could see at least 30 years on the bench. That is alot of time to be using his policies (record)......

6. His age tells us he

will be around a long time if appointed. His views and ruling will affect our grandchildren! His age in itself is not the issue....We need to frame the talking points around his rulings and that his view will impact America for generations. I don't think mentioning his young age will reflect our true concerns and can defocus from his opinions, the impact they have on America. The repugs will corner us on the age discrimination crap and not discuss his conservative, right-wing opinions.

7. Excellent Points, But I Think Age May Play To Idiot Media
I can see Katie Couric (or whoever) looking at images of him and saying, "Wow, he certainly does seem younger than what you normally think of the Supreme Court."

It's the sort of moronic thing that doesn't require anything but a pair of eyes to analyze, and that's pretty much the level of the MSM.

Which would trigger a "Gee, this guy would be unaccountable for a long, long time" reaction, which might spook the public a little more than normal - considering they think all things will pass (which is why they are shocked we are still in Iraq).

8. Agreed, the age will be played by the media whoes...
It's the distraction the right wing desires. We just need people to think outside the box a bit.

Actually, it will be in the hands of the Senate...that is where the power rides....We can let them all hear our voice. No Democrat should cross over. The corporate media will do it's injustice to America but we can tell the Senators what we want. They do work for US!

9. Not so much his age, as his limited judicial experience...
... which *does* relate to his age. He hasn't proven himself as a judge. How many other more qualified, longer-serving judges were overlooked?
