Pictured above is the CIA Memorial Wall to honor the agents killed in the line of duty.  Below the stars is The Book of Honor, containing the names of de-classified agents and unnamed gold stars without names for the agents whose covers are still classified.   Note that under 2003 there is a gold star with a blank space for a classified name.  The other 3 agents in 2003 were killed in Afghanistan.

But the blank space for 2003 is intriguing.  Could that be an agent who died as a result of the Plame Leak?  It's pure speculation, but given what we know about the Brewster Jennings & Associates cover being blown, and that Tenet and Pavitt almost certainly gave Fitzgerald a full Damage Assessment on Brewster Jennings, a dead agent is a real possibility in the Plame case.

That may be why there were 8 pages redacted in the judge opinions by Tatel and Sentelle--for national security reasons, because the Brewster Jennings Damage Assessment is part of the case and still classified.

We may never know, but there is the empty space for a dead agent in 2003.  They add the agent names into the Book of Honor the year after in an annual ceremony.

What's interesting is that the stars are in chronological order and Helge Boes was killed on Feb. 5, 2003, while Carlson and Mueller died on October 25, 2003.

So the unknown agent in between was killed sometime between Feb. 5 and October 25, 2003, while the Plame Leak was July 14 and Novak's Brewster Jennings Leak was July 22/

2. If the CIA is asked "was this agent killed by the Plame Leak?"

They will reply, (like Rove should have), "We will neither confirm nor deny that."

10. Since when has pure speculation ever stopped the Bushistas?

At least this pure speculation has the benefit of being grounded in an objective fact: The death of a covert CIA agent in 2003. Whether or not this was a direct result of Rove's compromising Valerie Plame's position, it's still evidence that CIA operatives are engaged in a dangerous business that could mean their deaths at any time.

But Rove, for his own petty political purposes, outed a CIA covert operative as payback for what her husband said. Did someone die because of it? We'll never know, but maybe . . .

I'm just applying the well-known Bush administration tactic of rushing to judgment before all the facts are known. Thousands and thousands of Iraqis have died, nearly 1,800 of our military personnel have died, and we've squandered hundreds of billions of dollars on the basis of George's playing a wrong hunch. Doesn't Karl Rove deserve the same consideration as these thousands of dead?

3. And if we try to figure it out here on the net, others could die? I think

we should note it, remember it, and move on for the moment and wait for whatever testimony we can learn about this case later.

What is so important is the stupid, foolish, irresponsible disregard for human life the right wing practices. There are no words to describe their lack of patriotism beside betrayal.

This is what we need to push more.

The irresponsibillity, the betrayal of other Americans whether it is in fact or by potential.

4. Well, goddammit, I want to know! They destroyed Plame and her eyes

and ears network on WMDs around the world, so if that blank was a Plame network death, it doesn't need to be kept secret any more!

May 22, 2003: David Kelly begins whistleblowing on Blair WMD lies in England.
July 6, 2003: Wilson whistleblows on Bush WMD lies in the U.S.
July 14, 2003: Plame outed and disabled.
July 18, 2003: David Kelly found dead, under extremely suspicious circumstances.
July 22, 2003: Plame WMD network outed and disabled.

What could be linking these two events?: A Cheney plot to plant WMDs in Iraq.

Yeah, it's speculation. No concrete evidence for it. But it sure sizzles as a working hypothesis on Kelly's death, and as a link to Plame (via Judith Miller--to whom Kelly sent one of his last emails, warning of "many dark actors playing games"; Miller, of course, in the thick of the Plame outing--both events near simultaneous, Kelly dead within three days of the Plame outing).

5. The impact of this is that

it will not be confirmed or denied by the CIA or Fitzgerald as the info is classified.

So it will likely ALWAYS be hanging out there....

8. For the Public, Yes

Fitz and certain judges may in fact have that information (actually I'm pretty sure they would).

Would the grand jury? If there are indictments and trials, how would that info be handled? Any idea? Would juries be privy?

7. That's Been My Suspicion As Well

I've had that notion since Plame was first outed, and then when I heard about the 8 redacted pages that had such a big impact on the judges I just KNEW they contained the damage report of the outing and it wasn't pretty.

9. If that's true, the CIA will allow Rove to twist in the wind for as long

as possible to cause maximum damage, and will then take down the Bush Administration after the 2006 elections. Patience, my friends...
