Hitchens defends Karl Rove
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 11:36 AM by Julius Civitatus
Leave to the hypocritical drunken neocon creep Christopher Hitchens to come out to the rescue of Karl Rove. It never fails with this guy.

Isn't it ironic that Hitchens, who made a career trashing the Nixon administration and called them "fascists" (when Hitchens was a lefty), is now deep in bed with an administration that makes Nixon look honest in comparison?

If you have the stomach, read his blatant defense of Rove at Slate:

http://www.slate.com/id/2122963/

The whole thing is plagued with right-wing distortions and lies that had already been debunked, not to mention the gratuitous attacks on Joe Wilson.

There's only one word to describe this drunken joke of a writer:

WANKER!!!!

CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS

Why is Slate paying this man money? Why are they giving him a platform for his dribble. He belongs on WorldNetDaily.

8. Angry that his clearly superior intellect not recognized
He's pissed at life, because Bill Clinton is smarter than him AND gets girls, and wanted the world to realize that his decision that Saddam had to go should be worshipped....

In the end, he's just another talking head trying to get a headline by going against type. Big deal.

9. The Dems could shut him up for a measly $20k a year.
Just have a bottle of his favorite scotch anonymously delivered to his front door every morning and he'd never leave his house or write another column. :)

What's in that yellow mug, soppy?

The smug arrogance of this crackpot is just astonishing.

13. Lather, rinse and repeat
Repeat, repeat, repeat Galloway's assessment of Hitchens as a drink-soaked, former Trotskyist popinjay whenever possible. That picture of Hitchens looks really awful. He badly needs another drink.

15. Hitchens is a non-entity
The right dislikes him and does not trust him for his criticism of Nixon and Kissinger. The left has disowned him for his inability to exercise any degree of critical thought regarding the war in Iraq. The only purpose he's served lately is to appear on right wing talk shows to shock and amaze the audience with the fact that a known lefty supports the Chimp's war. That sensationalistic side-show act is now getting a bit old, especially since every justification for the Iraq war has now been successfully controverted.

19. He sold his ideology for ca$h
And I believe this is a common trend for many left-of-center writers. You see, the right has been very good at providing grants and huge $ contracts to anyone willing to dance to their tune and write whatever hate-filled screed they need. The Heritage Foundation, Mellon-Scaife and others have funded enough wingnut writing to fill a library.

I guess Hitchens saw an opportunity there, and took it while saying goodbye to principles.

One thing is true, though: Left-wing think-tanks have nothing like that on our side. Left-of-center writers have to fend for themselves since there is no sugardaddy willing to fund their books. It's hardly an equal fight, and we better start funding our kids our of college and grooming them for the political fight, like the right-wing does.

Christopher Hitchens Forcibly Removed From Trailer Park After Drunken Confrontation With Common-Law Wife
SPARTA, TN ? Noted author, social critic, and political gadfly Christopher Hitchens was once again the focus of controversy Monday, when he was forcibly removed from Happy Trails trailer park following a drunken confrontation with Noreen Bodell, 39, his common-law wife of 14 years.

Responding to a domestic-disturbance call, police arrived at the couple's double-wide trailer at approximately 2:15 p.m. to find Hitchens and Bodell throwing dishes at each other. When the officers attempted to remove Hitchens from the premises, the leftist intellectual became physically and verbally abusive toward the officers, calling them "shitkickers," "bitches," and "effete liberal apologists for the atrocities of late-stage capitalism."

Having consumed what sources described as "a substantial amount of single-malt scotch," Hitchens then burst into tears, yelling, "That woman never understood me for who I am. I want to talk to Lapham. Lapham's the only one who understands me."
