All The Talk About Roberts Ignores One Basic Problem:
That with his track record of fucking up everything he touches, * has no business appointing anyone to a lifetime position. We're letting the guy who lied us into war, got tens of thousands killed, wrecked our economy and is currently the titular head of an administration that is under a moral, ethical and scandalous cloud to make another incredibly important decision that will effect all of us for decades to come.

I wish those facts were part of the discourse, but they aren't.

1. They were part of the discourse in 2000 and 2004.
The American people flatly rejected the argument. Now, it is a moot point. He has the power and we can do nothing to take it from him.

2. Of course, if Rovegate had exploded in 2003 it might
have made a difference in 2004.

3. Yep, absolutely.
But it didn't. I might point out that Watergate did not explode prior to Nixon's re-election either though.

We can still have some hope to remove him... but not soon enough to prevent this.

4. The American people did not flatly reject it in 2000
Kerry lost the popular vote by over 3 million votes; Gore won the popular vote by over 1/2 million votes. If over 1/2 million more people voted for Gore, you can't claim that "the American people flatly rejected" him or any arguments put forth by his campaign.

Of course, newspaper recounts done in 2001 proved that Gore had the majority of votes in Florida (which does not take into account the thousands of African Americans who were illegally purged from the Florida voter roles prior to the 2000 election). The Supreme Court installed Bush in 2000 by halting the Florida recount and making Katherine Harris' earlier vote total the official results.

Because it was the Supreme Court who "flatly rejected" an alternative to Bush in 2000, it's extremely important we investigate any judicial nominee's position on voting rights and other civil rights.

6. Exactly - regardless of whether the election was rigged...
stolen or whatever, we still have far too many people in this so-called country that support BushCo...and now we all have to lie in the bed they made!
