I have no idea why I'm feeling such a funk about this Roberts crap. I can usually see things pretty clearly. But this one has gotten to me. Its like playing chess ... thinking a hundred moves ahead. But the permutations are endless.

I'm also feeling a sense of overload. They keep pitching crap at us. Scotty lying his pudgy little ass off. Rove doing Roverian shit. BUsh being as fucking arrogant as any man who ever walked. Frist on the Senate floor spewing stupidity, followed by that weaselly asshole Mitch McConnell. The media doing their damnedest to deflect from the shit that's just now on its way through the fan.

I need a break .... but I just can't stay away. Its like watching a car wreck with fatalities. You know you need to look away, but you can't.

To tell you that I feel the very same. Ever since last night. I got away last night to read. Then dropped in here after midnight and felt like crap. Now, today, I'm weepsy all damned day.

I'm 58, hubby and I have no kids. Never had an abortion and don't have the kids to worry about. But I'm so bummed for this generation of young women that I can't describe it. I think you did, though. Just feeling like crap because I know the battle that lays ahead. They want to take this young generation to how it was when we were kids and even further back.

I guess we're going to have to pick our battles and decide that we *can multi task.

So we have a real stake in all this. To say nothing of the fact that Sparkly's a feminist of the highest order ..... as am I to the degree that's possible.

Trying to fathom an appropriate approach is killing me.

A part of me wants to go nuts about all this and just start screaming. Another part of me wants to be smart and strategic.

You and I are the same age. I can remember the time of the coat hanger. I can remember when abortion in my state was illegal, but it was legal in the next state. I know first hand people who had to cross state lines to get help. Mercifully, I know no one personally who had to endure a botched back alley procedure, but I absolutely know 'of' them.

On a purely personal level, I suspect we'll be okay. I can't see Maryland going back to the dark ages. But if my personal security was all that mattered, I wouldn't be here.

Even more than feeling like I'm watching a car fatality, I'm thinking this feeling is more like being at close relative's funeral.

7. I'm not feeling real bad about Roberts. He's not as bad as I expected.

But the totality of the nightmare we're in is certainly depressing. These are dark times. I have activities and hobbies that divert my attention away when I desperately need a break. But I also keep coming back to view the trainwreck in horrified fascination.

Guess what? They won't wear us down, will they? Apparently, they haven't worn down the American People, either. Did you hear about Zogby's poll re: Shrub and impeachment? I believe the percentage is at 53% for impeachment proceedings. Keep in mind that these numbers are indicative of a poll taken when much of the population is still unaware of the DSM and other BS that many of us know about. It's important to note that the poll #'s for approval to go ahead on impeachment hearings for Clinton were at a whopping 38%! Zogby is frustrated because the media is hesitant to carry this story. IMO, within a matter of weeks, all hell is going to break loose for these ratbastards. Just wait until the prison pics and videos are released. Imagine how those #'s will rise!

Hang in, my friend. It's a trying time. I won't dispute that. Ours is a noble and just cause and we've got to remain focused and vigilant. These imposters are imploding as we speak. I feel it. We will take back our country. You can take that one to the bank. I believe that with my entire being. NGU. Never.

with people who are dear friends and politically sympatico. They have two daughters, so this will likely be a topic of discussion. A little beer and it'll be a perfect night. Even the heat and humidity are down today.

I've been determining whether I am having a good time by how long I go without thinking about * and his gang. On days when fishing was good this could sometimes be several hours, but now we have red tide, so there goes that for a while. This "war on terror" has already lasted longer than the U.S. involvement in World War II and there is no end in sight. I'll be dead and gone before it's over with.

The best we can hope for on Roberts is either that once on the high court he isn't too much of a piece of shit or that he left a skeleton somewhere in his past (sex or money). I take some solace in the fact that if * wasn't in so much trouble he would have picked someone far worse.


Saw this on the back of a car today, silhouette of a woman with long hair bent at the waist and this text: "If you're going to ride my ass, at least pull my hair." Actually it said "your" which sort of ruined it.

Take Sparkly and go away for the weekend, or even just one night. Go drive somewhere, don't take a computer with you. Rent movies, walk on the beach or in the woods. Get a massage. Go swimming. Relax. Go sit in a place of beauty for a while, and let that beauty work its magic on you.

It sounds to me like you have every right to "feel overloaded" because, guess what, you ARE overloaded! It's been a terriffly difficult time for all of us. The key to continuing on is to take a break, get grounded back in yourself, take some time to nourish your spirit/soul with things that are beautiful and nourishing to it.

Taking care of yourself - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually - has to be a major priority because if you don't take care of yourself, people burn out and give up.

And we can't afford to lose you that way.

I'm recovering and back at being pissed about everything. That's a step in the right direction! ;>)

One of my hobbies is beadwork, so I went out today and bought more beads ( which I for sure don't need!) and am going to work on that the rest of the day instead of the pseudo productive crap that i was going to do---so, I will recover to bash the bushcrap another day!

You and sparkly and the kids will be okay - you know the rest of us feel just the way you do. Don't let the bastards get you down. (old saying, but still very true)

17. That's exactly what they count on, that we'll succumb to scandal overload

and be too overwhelmed following all the corruption we will take out marbles and go home. It's kind of like when your insurance company keeps losing your claims, or shuttling you around to forty five different voicemails, and then tells you they can't cover that claim or whatever, just frustrate you until you are pulling your hair out. I've heard that insurance companies deliberately give people the run-around so that a certain percentage of them will just give up trying to get their claims paid. It actually saves Insurance companies money when people are overwhelmed and stop trying to collect. Kind of like this administration. We are trying to make them accountable and they just are making us feel like we are running around and around in circles. So many scandals, so little time.
