Activists Launch StopJohnRoberts.com
I wanted to let everyone in the Kos community to know about our new site www.StopJohnRoberts.com. - we're launching it as part of the ProtectOurCourt.org campaign that we started with several former staffers to Wes Clark's campaign and grassroots activists that we met during the campaign and throughout the last few years. We are producing ads this week and working on content to build a resource of information on past Roberts decisions and we would love to get feedback and ideas from everyone...

This is from the press release that we will send out later today:

WASHINGTON, DC - A team of grassroots activists today announced the formation of www.StopJohnRoberts.com, an online campaign to stop the confirmation of John Roberts to the Supreme Court of the United States. The website will be part of the ProtectOurCourt.org campaign, which is currently producing 30 second tv ad spots to stop the confirmation of Roberts.

The group will use the website and advertisements to highlight past decisions of John Roberts that show he will not uphold the separation of church and state, the voting rights of minorities, or a woman's right to choose. www.StopJohnRoberts.com will also contain an online petition that the group will send to U.S. Senators, urging them to vote against the confirmation of John Roberts.

"President Bush had an opportunity to reach across party lines and select a nominee that could protect the rights of all Americans. Instead, he picked a radical conservative ideologue and we will work to ensure that John Roberts is not confirmed by the United States Senate."
