that went all the way up to **, hint to the Senate to stall on the SCOTUS appointment on the off chance that we can knock ** out of the Oval Office?

1. I Thought The Same Thing
I say we stall the shit out of this confirmation while we get the word out on these treasonous bastards. More and more people everyday are learning the truth and are getting sick of all the Republican bullshit rhetoric.

3. I just hope he has something.
He could be taking all this time to clear everyone too. I hate to think that but by now we should have had some idea what he's going after. It's all conjecture. I just hope it's not hollow. I'll crash like the Hindenburg.

I'm sure this group learned from Watergate that you always protect your king.

It would be nice though.

5. Dems could do it themselves if they had some guts.

"We refuse to participate in all nomination hearings until the issue of Bush's credibility is cleared up. As soon he is ready to go under oath and answer our questions concerning the leaks and the DSM, then we will move on and have the hearings. Bush should have no problem with this, unless he is hiding somthing..."

Of course, that kind of creative, agressive politics is only seen from the winning team, the Republicans.

Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 08:11 PM by Dr Fate
And that might hurt our feelings- I guess we should just continue to play along by their rules and hope for the best.

But seriously, they are going to say that anyway, so who gives a shit?

Response: "The same media that sold us "Schivo" and "WMDs" is now trying to say we should not ask questions- so what is new?"

17. And how does that keep DEMs from fighting in the manner I described?
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 11:50 AM by Dr Fate
Of course the MSN is owned by the GOP- I'm talking about what Democrats, who supposedly are fighting for us, COULD do.

More accurately, I'm describing what Republicans WOULD do if it were us outing agents.

this will fade into the woodwork. He's our only hope. I have a feeling he is on to something big though.

20. No, we could demand Rove go under oath in front of Senators.
And hold up the nomination process until he agrees to do so- DEMs could all go on TV and say:

"Bush's employee should have no problem answering a few questions from us, unless they are hiding somthing, that is. Until we clear up the question of this administration's credibility, we dont feel right letting Rove's employer make life-time appointments..."

Oh wait- my bad- that is what Republicans would do TO us- That kind of agressive, creative politics is reserved for the winners. Never mind.

19. Absurd notion
Fitzgerald is a Republican prosecutor who takes his job seriously. His goal is to investigate the leak and cover up, not play to your political fantasies.

If DEMs wnat hold up the nomination and demand Bush answer their questions, they could do it themsleves.

We need to slow down until the leader is discovered and isolated, lest more information is leaked to the terrorists.

23. Doubt it.
I can't claim "knowing" him other than his effectiveness here in Illinois and seeing/reading about his style.

Unlike Ken Starr, he is not a passionate partisan of the GOP. He is passionate about the rule of law, however. He does not tolerate in any way, shape or form, "leaks" from his staff. When he has something, he's extremely thorough and doesn't go off on mad chases just to 'get' the guy. But, if there is wrongdoing, he WILL 'get' the guy.

A couple of weeks ago, I heard a reporter state Rove has testified 3 times. Last night, I heard it's five. Judging from this, Rove may VERY WELL NOT be the "target". But that does not mean he is free and clear.

Here in Illinois, our Governor went under criminal investigation under the radar. He went first after his aides...namely his politically well-connected chief of staff, Scott Fawell (sound familiar?).

Note this piece dated April 2002:
http://www.ipsn.org/ryan_george/indictment_targets_ryan_fund.htm

Fawell was indicted and hard pressure put on him for Ryan's involvement. Eventually, Fawell's secretary/girlfriend/fiancee was facing jail time and Fawell sang like a bird.

Here's a good overview of it.
http://www.ipsn.org/ryan_george/sun-times_feds_say_ryan_at_center.htm

That Fitzgerald has taken this long is a good indication, IMO, that he has something...something "very serious" as the judges who reviewed is papers have stated.

24. Federal prosecutors are vicious attack dogs.
I mean that as a compliment--they are ruthless when they set their sights on big-time criminals. The bigger the game, the more hardball they like to play.

If Fitzgerald has Bush's scent, he'll hound him.
