"Utah GOP State Rep May Challenge Hatch"
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A state representative announced he will challenge Sen. Orrin Hatch next year, saying his fellow Republican is not serving people back home.

"Though specific issues are open to different interpretations and judgments, service to constituents is not. Either it gets done or it doesn't," Rep. Steve Urquhart said Wednesday on his Web site. "Currently, it doesn't."

A primary contest between Hatch and Urquhart would be held only if neither got 60 percent of the delegate vote at the state Republican convention in May.

Urquhart, a lawyer and the House majority whip, has been active in trying to keep radioactive waste out of Utah and did not want Utah to participate in President Bush's No Child Left Behind education plan.

3. I am hoping some Utah DUers have some input on this. Would be
great to get rid of Hatch, though.

Pete Ashdown, he owns Xmission a SLC ISP. His web site is http://pashdown.org/ . Unfortunately Utah is always going to be Reddest state in the nation. I was expecting Hatch to get a Supreme Court nod.
