Dean: Tancredo's refusal....."poses a very real danger to our troops"
CO Congressman Suggests Bombing of Holy Muslim Sites

DNC Chairman Statement on Rep. Tancredo's Extremist Remarks...

"Tancredo's statements go against the very message America is trying to send to the world, that the war against terrorism is not a war on Islam. Remarks threatening the destruction of holy sites akin to the Vatican or Jerusalem do nothing to win the hearts and minds of Muslims in the United States and abroad.

Congressman Tancredo certainly owes Muslims around the globe an immediate apology for his offensive remarks. At the same time, he also owes Americans an apology for projecting a message that goes against our values. With these remarks, Tancredo has been utterly careless with his responsibility for shaping our foreign policy. Tancredo's continued refusal to apologize poses a very real danger to our troops. President Bush should strongly condemn Tancredo's statement."

1. Thanks Dean and Rose..this
is something that shouldn't be ignored, either.

trancerdero should be made accountable for his extremely inflammatory, even treasonous remarks. He's betraying our soldiers, isn't he?

4. Don't know if it's treason
but it certainly endangers not just our soldiers, but our citizens and our allies. Not to mention that it threatens and offends the entire Muslim world, not just the handful who we like to call extremists.

For treason, he'd have to have the intent of betraying the nation. I doubt he's smart enough to have any intent other than trying to sound like Rambo. Same effect, though, so I won't quibble.

2. Congress should censure him, too. He's a part of the US government
thus his comments carry more weight than when Bubba Blow says it. He should be censured, Bush should condemn his remarks, and he should apologize.

5. Which is as good a reason as any
To keep mentioning Tancredo's remarks over and over again. There's no spin needed and nothing more to add, because his remarks were odious and offensive on their face, and each day we hit them again for how much danger they put our troops and our country in by feeding into the worst suspicions of people all around the world, who believe that the U.S. has embarked on a latter-day Christian crusade.

7. Right! Time to start calling these idiots on their stupid remarks.
These remarks do damage to our reputation and make us look like the terrorists.

The Dean scream did nothing but show a man's positive exuberance but that is what the media focused on. I have yet to hear a media report on Tancredo's irresponsible statements. That damned liberal media.

6. Once in awhile they do
come to their senses though..as in the Freedom Fry Guy..Congressman Walter Jones. Who now thinks we should get out of Iraq and I believe he apologized for the freedom fries but I could be wrong.

8. Like in the John Wayne movie....
"Don't apologize, it's a sign of weakness."
She Wore A Yellow Ribbon

...Only Democrats (Dick Durbin) and media (Newsweek) get called on the carpet.
