"Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean and Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman will share the stage Tuesday at the 29th Biennial Session of the Connectional Lay Organization of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

The event runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton-Americas Houston.
It is open to the public at no charge.
The League of Women Voters of the Houston Area will focus on hot topics, political and otherwise.

Ron Sass, Rice University professor of natural sciences, ecology and evolutionary biology, will discuss changes in Houston's climate during the league's summer meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Tracy Gee Community Center, 3599 Westcenter.

The event is open to the public at no charge."

Perhaps. Thursday is the last day of my bar exam, and I'm looking forward to 'unwinding' (aka 24 hour bender....) after 8 weeks of pure hell studying for this test...

6. woops...misread the date, i'll actually be right in the middle of the bar

oopsies, i skimmed down to the bottom where it said Saturday...and thought it was for the conference (which is on Tuesday...my first day of the bar exam!)

my bad, i hope someone else can fill in and take notes...

Anyone know if it will be on covered by the cable networks (I mean, at least bits and pieces of it?) ..I realize they're not going to run them on tv for two hours straight.
