Still no answer to my letter to Gannon... Oh well

I decided to ask Jeff Gannon about his access to the INR report containing the information about Valerie Plame. The media has understandably forgotten about his access to the document but curiosity got the better of me and I sent him a letter. He has yet to reply. This is a copy of what I wrote.



Mr. Gannon,

A while back, I watched where you participated in a panel discussion about Internet Journalism on C-Span. During that panel, my recollection is that you believed you were maligned unfairly because no one had asked for your input on the “Scandal”. If you did not say words to this effect then that was my sentiment as to the manner in which you were left out of the “debate”. I believe that was wrong and I want to make sure that does not occur this time.

Now that the Karl Rove/Valerie Plame debate seems to have heated up, your name has once again resurfaced in the Blogosphere.

It has been reported that you also had access to the memo that was responsible for divulging Valerie Plame’s identity. The reports actually come from your own interview with Mr. Wilson and in a much later article where you state:

“I raised all of these questions with Wilson in October 2003 in an interview for Talon News. Since I was aware of the INR report, I confronted him about it.”

Did you have access to the INR Report and if you did, how did you come by this information?

Now, I’m sure you have received a lot of flak from many people over the past few months but I would like to state that your personal life or past was and is irrelevant to the position you held. However, I found your story very questionable in regards to how you obtained your credentials and access to the White House. What I did not and do not support is the way you were smeared in the MSM and especially the “Blogosphere” for your previous profession. I do not wish to smear your name or cause you any ridicule but I am very curious to know how you came to have access to that report. Since Mr. Cooper has spoken openly about his testimony, are you able to reveal your level of access to this document?

Just to inform you, any information you reveal to me, I will post on the Internet. I will post this email and your replies in their entirety and without comment. If you wish to post this question and/or your reply on your site, please remove my email address and post away. If I never hear from you, good luck and God Speed, it’s been real and thanks for the story. It was truly amazing to watch.
