Bush backs Day of the Cowboy

WASHINGTON - President Bush supported legislation sponsored by Sen. Craig Thomas, R-Wyo., that establishes Saturday as National Day of the Cowboy.

The resolution and announcement of Bush's backing of it will be read Saturday at Cheyenne Frontier Days, according to Thomas' staff.

"I can think of no better place to make this announcement than at Cheyenne Frontier Days, which attracts visitors from all over the nation," Thomas said Thursday.
