Why didn't Bush appoint Bolton in a recess appointment ? |
|
In my opinion, he is afraid. Afraid that some of the crap on Bolton is going to be made public and that it will scatter on his new suit. He is afraid to be connected to the bad news accompanying Mr Bolton.

1. I really hope this jackass is involved... |

in the Plamegate affair, and it comes out. I have a feeling it will.

2. Because then he'd never have gotten him past the Senate |
|
The only way Bolton's going to be able to get in is with a lot of wheedling...a recess appointment would have solidified the opposition...
Of course, just the whispers about him being in Plamegate have probably killed his nomination now...

5. I heard on NPR yesterday that Bolton's "Pressing Bush" |
|
To give him the recess appointment. My immediate thought was "how does this dickweed get to press the 'pResident' on anything? What does he have on Shrub? And, yes, it would be only too sweet if he's involved with Plamegate.

9. "Cook me some intell John!" |
|
Or some phrase like that. When the DSM was leaked the key line was the fixed intell. We know that Bolton was leading that charge to get that, and even nearly firing CIA agents who didn't get it.

6. If that logic is true, why nominate him at all? |
|
Just the fact that Bush continues to support Bolton is a problem.
If Bolton leaked Plame's name - the fact that Bush doesn't turn him in and denounce him is a problem.

10. Dave from TWN.com says reaction to Bolton was why Roberts was nominated |
|
...The Washington Note is probably the best source for insider information--yes, better than Talking Points Memo.
Josh even says so.
