Here's an interesting comment in response to O'Donnell's post on Huffington's blog (it's the very last one on the page, at least it was when I read it):
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/theblog/archive/lawrence-odonnell/the-roveluskin-leaks_4551.html#commentsAll you cons who are so obsessed with whether or not Plame(Wilson) was "covert" or not are being mislead. 15 U.S.C. Sec. 421, is only ONE of the applicable statutes.
It is likewise a felony for a member of the government who learns of classified material through either their authorized course of duties or by accident, to release that information to ANYONE not officially authorized to receive it. You may want to check out 18 U.S.C. Sec. 793, which clearly indicates it is illegal for a government employee to disclose any information which is reasonably believed harmful to the nations defense or security.
So all this focus on the Intelligence Identitites Protection Act is leading you to not be able to see the forest for the trees. You might likewise check out any number of executive orders which prohibit the release of classified information.
My prediction is indictments for Rove, Libby for violation of the principle applicable statute(s) relating to release of classified information, conspiracy, perjury and obstruction of justice.
