Leaders who have faced impeachment
Mon 25 Jul 2005 8:44 AM ET

LONDON, July 25 (Reuters) - The Philippine opposition filed an impeachment complaint against President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on Monday on charges of electoral fraud, corruption and betrayal of public trust. Here are some other leaders who have faced impeachment proceedings:

March 2004 - The South Korean National Assembly votes to unseat President Roh Moo-hyun for violating an election law, economic mismanagement and corruption among aides. His powers are suspended, but restored two months later after a ruling by the Constitutional Court.

June 2005 - Malawi's United Democratic Party (UDF), under whose banner President Bingu wa Mutharika took office in 2004, lodges an impeachment motion accusing the president of violating the constitution and misusing government funds to buy a Mercedes limousine and to pay for his grandchildren's education.

July 2005 - The Philippine opposition files an impeachment complaint against President Arroyo in the lower house of Congress. The speaker sends it to the justice committee, which has 60 working days to weigh its merits.

4. Aren't the Bushites helping election fraud all over?
I know I read that somewhere, that they have their hands in tipping elections all around the world. Just don't remember where I read it. (sorry - senior moment)
