he is very much against McCain's amendment that the prisoners should fall under the code of military justice because they are not prisoners of war.

5. He said the Army field manual has the rules for how we treat prisoners, |
|
but the DOD can change them. What this ammendment would do is make it law, and prevent the DOD from doing their job.

That argument was knocked down by Graham, but what I found interesting about Sessions today was his insistence that the Executive branch have an override ability on military law. Scary fascist stuff.
Funny how a few Republicans are scrambling to condemn prisoner abuse - they must be worried that if this new batch of photos/video are indeed released, the GOP will bear (deservedly) the full brunt of public fury. At least Graham and Warner and McCain aren't acting as administration puppets on this as Sessions is - but I think it's more CYA and electoral survival than anything else.

6. Can't wait for the press release... |
|
the good Mr. Sessions has if someone from his home state has the grave misfortune to be mistreated in any way. He has no moral leg to stand on when he explains to the family how wrong "those enemy combatants" are...
For the last time, we do not follow the Geneva Conventions for the rights of the enemy, we follow it for the rights of our own...

I guess he is pro-sodomizing children, I'm sure he is familiar with the photos and videotapes.

9. Someone should ask him that question |
|
Mr. Sessions, do you think American torture should include sodomizing little children?
