Cincinnati POST endorses Paul Hackett
Publication date: 07-26-2005

<...snip...>

We like Hackett's candor. We're impressed with the freshness of his ideas. We believe his experience shows him to be someone who is action-oriented.

We endorse Hackett for the 2nd District seat.

3. its a special election in the middle of the summer
nearly impossible to predict what the turnout will be.

But this blog is very well updated on the info and an easy read on the eyes:

6. If he wins
or even if the race is close it will be great evidence that progressive candidates can do well in conservative districts if they know how to campaign. It will also show that Bush and the right-wing agenda is becoming very unpopular among mainstream Americans. In short it would be a big deal if he is able to pull it off.

8. indeed
many in Ohio are really unhappy about being duped over and over by the current admin at the state & fed level.

Then you have Hackett who is as good as it gets in today's environment, clear msg and an iraq war veteran.

Then you have Jean who is basically saying I am with the prez all the way.

So you have:

- people unhappy about the state of the state and the country,

- a chance for a breath of fresh air,

- a chance to vote for more of the unhappiness you already have.

Which way are the voters going to vote ?

7. We need to support this guy financially. He will be up against
a nasty propaganda machine. By the time they are done he will be a sniveling cowardly pacifist

Calling all Volunteers - This Weekend

The 2nd US congressional district in Ohio (Cincinnati area) is having a
special election next Tuesday August 2nd to fill a vacant seat. This is our
chance to help out our neighbors, help bring honesty, integrity, and fair elections back to Ohio, help take back
Congress. They are looking for as many people as possible to canvass, phone
bank and more this weekend for one last push. I am organizing a carpool
from Washtenaw County to go down there Friday night and return Sunday
evening. They have volunteers willing to host us for the weekend too. If
you would like to go, please RSVP back to me by Wednesday afternoon at the
latest. That way they can be sure to line up enough hosts. Please let me
know if you can drive or would need a ride.

The Democratic candidate is Paul Hackett. He is an Iraq War vet, and former
Marine. This is an uphill battle, but
we have a chance, especially since this is a special election and turnout
will be very low. It will all come down to Get Out The Vote, and this is
where we can make a key difference. Find out
more at http://www.hackettforcongress.com/ or http://www.growohio.org/ or
http://blog.oh02.com/.

Please pm me and I will forward this person your email if you are able to go to Ohio to help!
