Yesterday I received an appeal for money from the Friends of Hillary-perfectly coordinated with her latest PR bandwagon push, supposedly for her Senate campaign. Included was the obligatory questionnaire asking voters (I am in PA) their priorities on the issues. Not ONE damn mention of the Iraq war. And another interesting thing I noted--there is a section asking what party was better on specific issues and the choice was between the "Republican" party and the "Democrat" party. Isn't that typically the Right's terminology--"the Democrat party"?

AMBITIOUS. They can't be bothered too much about things like party affiliation and such.

Re. the war... last I heard Hillary thought it was just peachy. When public disaffection reaches about two thirds, we'll see her leading the charge for a pull-out.

You would think a bunch so savvy and so ambitious would know enough not to tip their quasi-Republican hand that way. I absolutely abhor that terminology.

Sen. Clinton's unapologetic support for both the Iraq War and the DLC have soured me on her as a candidate. And, I think such an overt push for electoral supremacy this far out is both distasteful and tasteless. In my heart, I believe she is the absolute wrong candidate at the absolute wrong time. I will not be bull-dozed this way. I will not. Never again.

ANDI too refuse to be bull-dozed this way!!! They've gotten on the band-wagon so quickly and it also seems that the MEDIA is pushing this too!

I wonder if Hillary realizes just how many here at DU actually DON'T want her as a candidate?? I'm so sick of too many people "telling" us that SHE will be our candidate! I've gotten several requests down here in Florida and I just throw them in the trash too!

Hillary IS NOT someone I will support and I can only HOPE that she isn't shoved down our throats!

Even though Edwards DID vote to AUTHORIZE the possibility of going to war, he's been out there ever since working hard to make others at least THINK about the growing gap between the VERY VERY rich and the rest of America!

Watched a Great program yesterday with Robert Reich giving a speech at Berkley talking about how the economy could SNAP if we don't get it together soon! He was both funny and terribly interesting!

He's only became a populist once he decided to run for president. A populist message will only sell when people can believe the messenger. He's just another phony, pandering "say anything to get elected" politician. Furthermore, the American public will not trust or feel protected by a personal injury attorney.

16. I Think He Would Be Great...

I've posted this here before many times. I'm considered or consider myself a Died In The Wool Liberal, however I want the REPUKES GONE!!

He has charisma, a message, location AND Elizabeth! In her own right, Elizabeth is FANTASTIC AND INTELLIGENT! She is a real crowd pleaser too! We could do a lot worse!!! I don't know if you've ever seen him in person, but if you haven't I suggest you try it once.

Sure I would prefer someone like a Wellstone (died on my birthday) or a Kennedy, or Boxer or Bernie Sanders. But that isn't going to win! This administration has taken us so far to the right, and so many "red-staters" walk in lock step, we WILL need someone more moderate. And given what is happening in Iraq, we might just have to think twice about Clark too! He's MILITARY! I grew up as an Army brat and I can tell you, no matter how retired you are there's a certain mentality that NEVER goes away!

Fortunately, when I got married a long time ago I made sure I didn't marry anyone in the military! I didn't like the lifestyle at all. I realize that the military has changed since my father was there, but "orders" are orders!

I wish he wasn't. My grandmother says they've got better things to spend money on.

Maybe you should write out a message about why you ARE NOT sending money on the questionnaire and just mail that back. It would be interesting to see what happens.
