Hillary's "2005 Critical National Issues Survey"
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 03:47 PM by welshTerrier2
walking back up the hill from my mailbox, i couldn't wait to rip open the envelope ... this is what democracy is all about ... Hillary wants to know what "I" think ... she wants to know my views on the issues ... how cool is that ??

she said it right there in her letter: "Specifically, i'd like to know what's on your mind right now, and how i and other Democrats can do more to address your urgent concerns." and then later in the letter she even said: "If you're one of the millions of Americans who are saying "no one's listening to me ..." ... yup, that's me ... she got me on that one ...

well, this was my chance to be heard ... i wanted to ask Hillary why, according to a recent poll quoted by Senator Biden, 60% of Americans want the US to withdraw from Iraq soon but Democrats in the Senate, including Hillary, refuse to represent them on this issue ... that's not a poll of just liberal Democrats; it's not a poll of just Democrats; it's a poll of all Americans ...

and i wanted to ask Hillary about how many American and Iraqi lives she was willing to invest in fighting bush's war in Iraq when there is so clearly no hope of success ...

and i wanted to tell Hillary that the US is increasingly seen as an evil, outlaw nation throughout the rest of the world because of American arrogance and American imperialism in the Middle East and elsewhere ...

and i wanted to tell Hillary that big money politics, her politics, corporate-controlled politics is destroying the last vestiges of our American democracy ...

and i wanted to tell Hillary about the global threat of nuclear proliferation that is being made much, much worse by America's refusal to reduce our own nuclear stockpiles ...

and i wanted to tell Hillary about the massive loss of American jobs caused by globalization ...

and i wanted to tell Hillary how workers are made weaker relative to stockholders and how the middle class is being systematically destroyed by corporatist, "free" marketers ...

and i wanted to tell Hillary that i believe our electoral process has become so corrupt that our citizens no longer believe in its outcomes ...

and most of all, i wanted to tell Hillary that more and more people are losing hope as our government institutions and our elected officials, of both parties, are failing our country at a most critical time ...

but Hillary's "2005 Critical National Issues Survey" did not ask me about these things ... Iraq, where almost 2000 Americans have died and America has lost her honor for all the world to see, was not even mentioned ...

in fact, with the exception of one innocuous question about "bush's unilateralism" and one question on international family planning, foreign policy was not even mentioned ... we're in a war and Hillary doesn't even mention it as a "critical issue" ...

nothing on globalization ... nothing about the reality that we're in a class war that's destroying America's middle class ...

nothing on getting the big money out of our political process or the corruption in our elections ...

nothing on WMD or nuclear safety ...

nothing on American imperialism ...

apparently the US role in the world is not a critical issue ... apparently US conduct overseas that puts Americans at much greater risk is not a critical issue ... apparently a foreign policy that exploits weaker nations for corporate benefit is not a concern to Mrs. Clinton ... apparently repairing the obvious shortcomings of our electoral processes is of no concern to her ...

she just wants to go merrily along blaming everything on the republicans ... well, what's the point of voting for Democrats to solve the most critical problems when they don't even recognize the problems as critical ???

damn, and i really thought she wanted to hear my ideas ... oh well, maybe she'll read my post ...

Why don't you copy your post and attach it to her questionnaire and send it back to her? Just a thought. :dem:

5. Walk to your wastebasket....
carefully insert the entire mailing, envelope and all in the trash where it belongs, and walk away. Do not look back. Do not have a second thought. She doesn't want to know what you think. She only wants you to think she wants to know. It's what's in your wallet she's after. If you don't believe me, fill out the form, and wait to see her give voice to anything you care about. While you're waiting, you'll get a letter begging you for money about once a week.

DSM, Black Box Voting, Choice, Abu Ghraib photos, The Rove/Plame case, the forged Niger Documents, her support for the Iraq War....
she will not take on any of this for you or anyone else. All she wants right now is your mooney, and your name on a Mailing List. (And she only wants THEM to prove to the big corporate money folks that she has your "support".) It's fugly...

11. the whole purpose of this survey was to raise money ...
<insert generic survey question here>

answer choices:
a. everything is bush's fault
b. everything is the republicans' fault
c. everything is bush's and the republicans' fault

i also loved her "rating the parties" section:

which of the TWO political parties blah, blah, blah ... hmmmmm, are there only two?

the survey is in no way whatsoever a real request for information ... it is nothing but a useless campaign tool ...
