Democracy Now! Exclusive: Wesley Clark Admits Targeting Civilians In Yugoslavia

In a Democracy Now! exclusive, General Wesley Clark responds for the first time to in-depth questions about his targeting of civilian infrastructure in Yugoslavia, his bombing of Radio Television Serbia, the use of cluster bombs and depleted uranium, the speeding-up of the cockpit video of a bombing of a passenger train to make it appear as though it was an accident and other decisions he made and orders he gave as NATO's Supreme Allied Commander.

Plus he speaks about Iraq

1. This should be good
The last time DN questioned Bill Clinton about Yugoslavia, he flipped out on them-- on the air!

2. Clark answered all of his questions
very thoroughly. He had to go at the end but he seemed eager to answer the questions even as he was being moved away to talk to other voters. He was a General in war. War is bad and really terrible things happen. It doesn't change my mind about supporting him. Whoever is President will also be commander in chief. I would rather have someone in that position who has seen how terrible war is and who would be less cavalier about aggressive behavior. It makes me more inclined than ever to vote for him.

3. Scahill: not a bad word to say about Milosevic?
In the January, 2001 issue of Dollars and Sense, Scahill authored a piece about ostensibly about Serbian economic policy after the fall of Milosevic but most of the article seems to be a complaining criticism about the opposition forces who ousted Milosevic.

Until somebody can point me to something on the contrary, as far as I am concerned Scahill is just (still?) defending a bloody, corrupt and undefensible regime responsible for the some of the worst war crimes since the end of WWII.
