sent to his campaign seem to end with .01 -please enlighten me why this is done.

That $.01 is just a marker to label you as someone who contributed because of internet activism. Most people who read Daily Kos use the $.01, but to my knowledge, DU does not have its own marker.

3. I called today and made a donation to Hackett. I asked the

staff member what the deal was with the one cent. She indicated that was to show that we got the idea to donate from a certain blog - in this case dailyKos. I asked her what the amount was for DU - sadly we don't have our own odd amount.

I started a thread a little while ago about this very thing and received the suggestion that we should use .02, in order to get our two cents in. I thought it was a great suggestion and we need to remember in the future.
