WE'D be outraged.

Really, we have bigger and better reasons for going after Bush. This is not one of them.

12. Looking at the pictures
it's in the wrong position to be the finger. His hand curves the wrong way.

It is about in the right position to be a thumbs up as seen from the back, or a pen.

But he's have to have a mutated alien hand for that to be his middle finger. He's chunky, his hand couldn't be that slim.

21. Bet I did what?
Have you seen someone give a thumbs up from behind? Make a thumbs up gesture. Look at from behind (which is all you can do really).

Right shape. Right length. Curves in at the right place. If you're giving a finger, you hand should plump out, not suck in.

Sorry. From the picture on the board it just doesn't look like the fuck you finger.

27. Yep, and I've been flipping myself the bird to compare
it still looks more like when I give the thumbs up then look at it from the back.

As someone said in another thread, he was gesturing in response to CAFTA results. Thumbs up, not fuck you.

And he did get a thumbs up with CAFTA, didn't he.

bribes, threats and promises...a usual vote on the floor lasts 15 mins..while the bush vote was close the bush team was on hand to meet with a numbers of members who were bribed, some threatened and some made lucrative promises....i hear some in congress are calling for an investigation. of the vote..if you come across the bird flip on the net, please pm me....

11. His thumb???
Is he like double-jointed or does he have a reaaallllly looooong thumb?

'Cause when the thumb is pointed skyward on my hand - the rest of my hand points out away from my head - bending at the wrist.
...And if I try putting it between the middle knuckles like the capped picture - only an inch of thumb is visible from the backside when the hand is straight up; more of my thumb can be seen if I bend my hand backwards - showing more knuckles.

But that's me - maybe I'm the abnormal one.

13. My point is...
...if he can't even be expected to answer, "Hey, George! What was that finger thing all about, anyway?," he must not feel he's accountable for much of anything at all. Mmmmmmmm...Dictatorship.....

A picture speaks a thousand words, especially to illiterate bushkissers. I'm not about to let it go if it seems like a good time to bring it up.

And contrary to what a lot seem to think, I'm sure most people can keep track of more than one news item at a time.

Fire all your weapons as frequently as possible.

15. It would help if it were actually the finger he was whipping
many of us don't think it was. A thumbs up as seen from the back.

If you're gonna fire your weapons, it's best to make sure you have actual ammo. This one is firing blanks.

There are many indications that the Bush regime is dictator-like. This is not one of them.

18. I seriously doubt that freepers are into telling the truth
and how childish would it be to accuse the president of whipping the finger because in a fuzzy picture it almost, but not quite, looks like he might be.

He launched an illegal war. Surely that trumps "the finger".

Why would it be considered too nice to not want to make an ass of myself accusing Bush of something I KNOW he wasn't doing. His. hand. is. in. the. wrong. position. to. be. the. finger.

I'd rather go after him for 1700 dead soldiers than whether or not he might have been showing us the finger.

Someone should post the governor picture of him actually whipping the finger. And compare.

9. It's his thumb, from onegoodmove:
"John Godfrey (Dow Jones Newswire) writes, "I was in the scrum of reporters at the event. Bush did not flip anyone off. He was clearly giving a thumbs up in response to a question shouted from the crowd." I called John to verify the email was from him and to ask him if there was any doubt in his mind, he said there was not. I forgot to ask him if he's sighted. "

Without going all Zapruder, it looks to me (and Leno's audience) like a flipped bird.

Image is everything.

Damn, do WE have to debunk stuff that makes bush look like the sonofabitch he is? Here's a gun. Care to shoot yourself in the foot with it?

Let the freepers prove it wasn't his fuck-you finger. And while they're doing that, we have time to uncover more layers of Plamegate.

Who's with me?

19. So why berate us for "not holding him accountable"
for what?! Now you're suggesting it doesn't matter if he was or wasn't?

And yet, somehow, we're supposed to hold him accountable for it?

I'd rather hold him accountable for Iraq and Abu Ghraib, thanks.
