Poll question: Frame idea: "Anything less than total, immediate withdrawl is a failure."
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 09:05 AM by iconoclastic cat
Okay, so I've never tried to create a political framing statement before, but I feel driven to try one. One of my fears is that by 2006, the Repubs will be able to score points with the public by bringing 20%-50% of the troops home with much fanfare, while leaving the rest of the troops in grave danger as Iraq implodes off-camera.

I want everyone's family members back alive. Now.

I also would like the Republicans to pay dearly for sending them there, and for them not to earn one damn vote for a partial homecoming. No bloody victory lap for you!

My idea is not anything new, but I haven't heard anyone pushing it in the Republicans faces; I think we need to be yelling that anything less than a complete and immediate withdrawl from Iraq is a failure. A partial withdrawl by the Republicans is costing our troop's lives; the Democrats demand a complete and immediate withdral to ensure our soldiers' saftey.

Suggestions? Edits? Ideas?

1. No matter what Bush does, he has failed...
"Democracy" has failed, WMDs has failed, War Against Terror has failed, withdrawal (cut 'n ' run) is failure. Bush is a failure. Republicans are failures and total losers. Republicans cannot be trusted with the reins of government. Republicans are ideologues just like the Communist Chinese and North Korea. Republicans are incompetent. Bush is a failure. Bush is mentally impaired just like Reagan was. Bush is a failure.

This is your mantra!

2. obviously you're right but...
but what sucks is that until there is major and total civil war, I mean fullscale and constant... there is the impression that the only thing preventing Iraq from descending into total anarchy is the presence of our troops. That is the major problem with "all of our troops out now" argument... the post-withdrawal vacuum that would be left is a very scary thing to think about. Now I am of the option that it will come sooner or later no matter what. The longer we stay the more out of our hands it will get until we are forced to withdrawal and then it will be the same anarchy.

i gotta go to work
