1. Amazing. Landon didn't even take his own state.

The last Republican I voted for major office was Alf Landon's daughter, Nancy Landon Kassebaum. She was a wonderful Senator, a true moderate and a social liberal. When she retired in 1997 I was very, very sad because I knew that we would get a real nutcase. She's currently married to Howard Baker, former Republican Senator from Tennessee ("What did the president know and when did he know it?").

2. we need to dump the electoral college ASAP
It's pure gerrymandering fodder.
