Senate passes Cheney "energy" bill - Feinstein caves in
Feinstein caves again, voted for this obscenity... Written in cheney's office by and for the oil, coal and gas industries. It cuts support for conservation and renewables -- $8.5 Billion in more tax breaks for the rich.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/26/energy.bill.ap/

Sen. Boxer, on the other hand said, ""It's a toxic bill," Boxer said. "They have given billions of dollars of tax breaks to the very energy companies that are making a fortune."

Boxer added, "The MTBE issue is a shame upon the House. To give a liability waiver to people who make that poison ... is to put this on the backs of the communities and local taxpayers. It's so egregious."

Californians, Feinstein must be defeated next year!!!

Byrd, though, voted YES to that and the Gun bill - Good thing for him he voted NO to CAFTA, as did Dorgan, and a few other Dems that I like generally.

17. I got it from the following
http://feinstein.senate.gov/05releases/r-engbill0628.htm

The vote wasn't posted yet but I thought that Feinstein's site might be telling the truth.

That's what I get for believing anything I read on the internet

She's still toast. I think the dems in California should find a real progressive to run against her in the primary next year. I didn't vote FOR her (or her opponent) last time and never would again. I have political and personal reasons not to do so.

Even more curious as the bill was voted today and not yesterday.

6. What's the Total Cost?
I thought I heard on Lou Dobbs that the total cost of the Energy Bill would be $83 billion. Is that correct, or did I misunderstand?

13. Here in California Feinstein needs a challenger because -->
a good challenge in the dems primary will inform Ms moneybags looking out for her husband's business interests that DEMOCRATS elected her to be true to democrat values, siding with working people, middle class people, people who want the freedom of expression without government oppression, people who want the government out of religion and bedrooms.

a good stiff challenge would remind her of that and perhaps bring her back to the democrat view more often.

her crappy flag burning amendment is pure crap.

22. No love lost for Feinstein, but...
who you got out there who could win the primary and the general?

(This is not a rhetorical question.)

How's Feinstein's overall popularity? Is she being killed in the polls relative to Boxer?

16. Findspine is an imbecile from the ruling class
This is nothing new. On the rare occasions (like the '01 energy fleecing) she's stood up for something that mattered, but her record way back as the lucky person to ascend to power after Dan White's rampage and even before is nothing but appeasement.

She needs to be knocked out in a primary fight and not get a chance to stand for office again. Would that Pete Stark could do it.
