"Frist for President", good or bad for left?
I can see Frist using his new stand on stem cell research, contrary to Bush, as a political statement to centralize his base more(I believe Bush was involved in the move). On one hand, He is such an idiot and a hypocrite I can't believe he'll be anything but good for the left in the next election (as in; "surely no one is stupid enough to vote for him" and "look at the gold mine of shit that can be heaped on him during the campaign"). That said, considering Bush as proof of how bad things can get, then Frist scares the hell out of me.

Opinions?

6. I hope he is the nominee
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 08:46 PM by Skip Intro
- the mob that brought us bush would be pushing him, I am sure, so the fight between that mob and the McCain gang will be guaranteed to be ugly, almost surely a knock-down, drag-out for the nom. McCain will loose again.

that's good for us because

- the right will be split. the wacky fake christians will never rally to him after this. they'll never suppport a stem cell killer.

and

- frist will scare off more voters than he will attract. He's just got a scary demeanor - like a horror show villain. And then you hear him speak. yikes!

Please run Bill Frist, I don't care how many gold stars you happen to get on this day.

7. I can see the liberal media now...
first he voted against stem cell research then he voted for it. That makes Frist too liberal, anti-christian and it puts him in the position of being against our unborn troops who will fight our war on terra.

Have fun and "spin" away kids!!!

10. I thought Frist was not running for anything again. I also thought
the reason he was leaving the political spectrum was because he owns a Medical Company, Columbia HCA; and once he is out in the real World, his company, among others he is involved with, will be heavily lobbying for federal fundings for this type of research.

In other words, always follow the money. Just like the Homeland Security Director, Tom Ridge. He resigned because he saw it was so much more profitable for him to work in the private sector. He will be on the board of Home Despot. Remember the duct tape and plastic sheeting? Home Depot's sales went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy up. Ch-Ching.

It's always about the money.

13. Good if Dems run on a pro-cat platform
Get out the kitties now before Fristy puts out a campaign promise to experiment on cats in the Oval Office--after he makes video diagnoses on brain-dead patients!
