Gore observation........
Does anyone think that when Bush thinks of Gore it bothers him that he never really "won" in 2000? I hope it gets stuck in his craw when he thinks of Gore and I hope whenever they are around each other it is a reminder to Bush that he never really did win.

Sadly, I do think that Gore would never have become the person he is today if he and not lost the Supreme Court selection. I think that experience for him allowed him to be what he is today and hope that he still isn't done with Presidential politics.

1. I think you're right....
If Gore had moved into the White House in January 2001, he would have been the same type of self-serving corporatist DLCer that so many people on DemocraticUnderground complain about today.

However, Gore should concentrate on popularizing Current (to present a REAL alternative to Faux News)...as far as presidential politics, stick a fork in him.

2. Nope. If Gore had taken his proper place in the White House
America would look totally different today than it does.

6. You're right, on one count....
There would have been much different administrative policies set by Gore between 2001-2005.

But it's pie-in-the-sky idealism to think that Gore, as president, would have morphed in the "fire-in-the-belly" politician that his supporters praise him for being nowadays.

3. I don't think winning the electoral college but losing the popular vote...
...matters to Bush. I'm sure he'd like to have won more decisively, but he knew it would be close from the start of the campaign.

4. to be honest, i doubt * even thinks about gore or any non-NeoCon
and if he does think back on 2000 - my best is that he truly believes that he won and wasn't anointed by the SCOUS-5

8. even bush isn't that dense...
mygod, why do you think 911 was mihop (or lihop for you trusting souls)? that was a staged event, and bush knew exactly what was going on in 2k election: the overthrow of legal representative gov. in the USA...911 was necessary to displace the NORC results which, even today, would destroy bushinc (the NORC results prove bush never had the numbers that gore had) if they ever got any attention...
As far as Al goes, he dinnae wanna create a revolution, or have the people take to the street in order to save the US, and preferred geeb run the country/world into the ground

9. There will always be something in the history books about his being
"selected" and not elected. When he gets older and has time on his hands, sitting around on the porch at the ranch, I bet that thought will torture him.

12. I'm expecting something else entirely
More like he, Cheney, and Rumsfeld, if ever ejected from office (by legitimate succession or otherwise) will nuke half of us and spray down the other half with anthrax/whatever and abscond to where they can enjoy the trillions they've embezzed with bin Laden, Zarqawi, et al.

11. Bother him? No more than stealing the election in 2004!
Does anyone really believe Bush won? He enjoed stealing 2000 so much he did it again! I think he isn't bothered a wit. The ends justify the means. But I think he is really annoed by Kerry not disappearing and constantly opposing him. He was hoping he would disappear, not be in his face . Kerry is remiding people of what they could have had! Take that Ahole is what I imgine Kerry is thinking.
