I was putting my groceries in the car when it hit me
like a ton of bricks! Oh My God! Our Children are dying because This administration wanted to invade Iraq! 1,750 of our Babies are DEAD! 100,000 people in Iraq are dead! This President, who nobody elected is still running this Country, appointing people to the Supreme court, to the U.N. and still living in the White House when he should be in jail!!!! Oh My God! I guess I am a little slow, but I think I just got it!!

2. I know. At the oddest moments, it just pops up and knocks you over.

It's the sheer enormity of the whole thing that makes it so difficult to grasp. :(

3. I hope my son will not increase this number
He goes to Afghanistan in a month. I am worried since there have been uprisings in the area. I pray for all of our guys who come back alive, but not whole, and the ones that did not make it back. This war is personal to me and I hate it and I hate the people who have caused it. Where are their sacrifices? Whose kids are in this war? Middle class and poor people. That is who is dying for the rich....

bush wasn't elected. he has no legal authority. why can't americans see it? 911 was to buy bushinc time. iraq is to fill the news with distraction. why cannot the obvious be seen? no one should fight for bush. no one should go along with the bushit. it's nov 8 2000 in terms of political legality. bush is a criminal. period

15. Ex-Husband
He is there now but he has a comfy position in Afghanistan so he is fine. Said they threw a head into the compound but that has been about it. He is nowhere near the fighting.....He is a soldier through and through. Graduated from the Citadel, went on to become an officer and loves the military. We have nothing in common.....

21. true
i can. but helping the bush administration in any way borders on treason; bush despises america (he said he won a trifecta when the wtc was destroyed, subconsciously telling americans how much he loathes them, their country and everything they represent, including the military) and time will reveal how he has demolished what once symbolized hope for everybody (didya know that during the 'cold war' the leaders of most of the 'communist' regimes sent their children tio USA for education? same with the rulers of most of the 3rd world...)not anymore...today BUSA represents nothing but a prison camp based on a former colony's shores, and torture for the pleasure of goofballs

5. It's okay. The unthinkable takes awhile to wrap around.
Normal people wouldn't expect anything like this from their government. You got it now.

What I worry about are the ones who haven't gotten it yet, and may never because of their news sources or their "the Presdent knows lots and lots of things we don't know" assumption.

Welcome home.

7. It really hurts!
I knew all of this before, but for some reason, it just kicked in! I too am worried and pray every day for Impeachment! My son is 18 in December, and I tell you, no more of our children should be deployed! Is there a way we can at least stop the deployment of our Children???

6. This is why it was a mistake to let the illegal election stand
and Americans stood down as soon as it was over.

Where was the discussion? Where were the journalists? Where was the media?

Are we insane?

12. Well then it's past time to stand up
We need to demand, in every way we can, that these madmen be removed from power. Everybody knows at this point that they are traitorous criminals. It is time for them to go.

8. It comes in waves.
I kind of resent the people who chime in as if they were comfortable in a nightmare when these thoughts kick in, saying welcome to the club etc. I for one can't function with that kind of depressing thought in my mind...I lose sleep, I can't focus. So I have to push it out to get things done, then it comes back, and its terrible, then I push it away, etc.

Slowly, what I am coming to terms with, is working in ways to be doing something about it into my functioning life. Not letting it blow my mind, enrage me, depress me, just bringing ways to fight it into my life day by day, becoming stronger, doing work to make the world better. This is the only way to deal with it for me, let those waves start to drive me on to positive action, to work. Then alone can I sleep soundly at night knowing about it.

16. What's even worse
is when you let it sink in that our country has been uprooting regimes and swindling the resources of countries all over the world. That that and US trade policies in "our" favor contribute to many of the deaths of 24,000 people a day.

And it's not just Bush* - it is any of the pro-mafia style (we've got laws on the books but that doesn't stop us) corporate politicians. It is also everyone who helped get Bush* set up in office. And it is all of these people that Bush* promotes - like Gonzales, and Bolton and Wolfowitz and Rice. And the Christian Coalition for encouraging them.

17. As much as I want people to get it, I remember how traumatizing it is.
Edited on Sat Jul-30-05 06:14 PM by higher class
Hang on. No matter what, it is better to know and do what you can. Make sure you have someone's ear before you descend on them with what you're 'getting'.

If what you are getting is what is going on now...wait until you find out that this has been in the making for decades. These people have moved slowly and carefully, but are now exploding out. Your mind will have a very hard time wrapping it around the knowledge that just as our country was improving in every way imaginable, the machinery to take it down was in the works.

I believe they fear as much as we do. Their need to secure their wealth and control is equal to our fear of being poor and controlled.

20. Cold reality hurts like hell. No wonder so many people block it out...
Although blocking it out just prolongs the right-wing travesty. It'll only be after the greater number of the population wakes up, has a revelation or an epiphany, whatever, that real change will eventually come about.

Hang in there, babsbunny!

23. Last night's poll on Lou Dobbs was asking if we thought
it was a good idea to post a private citizen militia to protect our borders. I think 85% of the respondents said yes. That is really scary to me. Some Congressman was on there plugging his proposed legislation on this and, get this, he said these citizen militia would be fully armed and get whatever they need to do their job. I think this is just so absurd I would be very seriously worried of this came to pass.

Kidding! Gotta find some facetiousness in the face of this mess. Your message bears repeating and repeating and repeating.
