Will it be a political blunder for Bush to nominate Bolton with recess ...
...appointment? I seriously doubt that the record of John Bolton has been thoroughly examined? Even Mr. Fitzgerald may have a few things to say about Mr. Bolton. If John Bolton is covering up or lying, you can bet that George W Bush knows about it. Yet, he would go ahead and nominate him anyway? This could be a big mistake for Rove and Bush. If Bush does appoint him, it is most likely a payoff to keep his mouth shut.

1. According to Trent Lott it would be.
Edited on Sun Jul-31-05 02:03 PM by Zen Democrat
Read this yesterday where Trent Lott advised Bush not to appoint Bolton saying it would be a big mistake. However, he conceded that the White House was going to go ahead and do it. Lott said they would "suffer the consequences" whatever that means.

3. Mercury is Retrograde. I'd bet a doughnut hole that
it will backfire in some unforseen way (ask NASA and the Shuttle team).

So a Blunder or a Boner are High Possiblities with an arrogant BushCo recess appointment of yet another Bully Boy who is Lacking in All Honor, just like George AWOL Bush himself.

Birds of a feather are flocking together.

4. Wouldn't be great...
if Bush did, it kinda became a news item/issue and was unpopular generally, and the UN just totally snub the dumb SOB to the point that he acomplishing none of the stuff they are talking about and then, blam, out of the blue, out comes probe case and he's neck deep in it.

5. I believe it would be a rather large blunder.

With * popularity in the toilet and sinking it can only add to the ground swell.

I actually hope he does appoint Bolton. Furthermore, I hope that Bolton quickly turns out to be the nightmare we all envision him to be. It would be interesting to see just how far down * can go. Bolton could be the straw that breaks the back of * support.

And with Bolton possibly wrapped up in the Rove affair, it would be perfect if * appoints him and then a couple of weeks later Fitz and the grand jury handing down indictments that place him smack dab in the middle of the affair. I can't think of anything that would be better.

Go ahead, make my day.

6. Bush* doesn't care.
Edited on Sun Jul-31-05 02:12 PM by bvar22
He won't be running for president again.
I do believe there will be a backlash against the Republican Party.
That's why they Powers that actually run things are going to ensure that the Democrats nominate a Corporatist in '08. They don't care if the USA swings aroung on the Social issues, as long as there is a steady march toward absolute Corporate rule.It lets the American People think they actually have a say in what happens.

Do Big Oil and Big War really care who gets an abortion, who buys a gun, or who can't get married?

8. Bush* doesn't care. Agreed...
but I also think most people don't care either. He'll more than likely appoint Bolton and there will be all kinds of screeching from the Senate and nobody in the electorate will pay any attention.

9. Right
Everyone who pays enough attention to see the Bolton appointment circumvent the democratic process already have seen enough to disapprove of Bush. The rest aren't paying attention and don't care.

7. More and more Republicans will have proof of bullying by shoving

shady criminal characters down everyone's throat. I hope that there will be billions and billions of biographical material released on Bolton so that the entire world will know what they have done.

George, if you're going to do it no matter what because of your stubborn and revengeful immaturity - then bring it on so that the entire world can see what you, PNAC, and Bolton are all about (as if they needed more proof).

We know we will learn what is in the documents that you won't release sooner or later.

We know you are sealing the reputation of the U.S. under your regime with everyone else in the world. The only regime that probably welcomes him is the Sharon regime.

10. Even though I'm horribly disappointed in the Dem party
because they've been so damn whimpy, I really do thank them for being so tenacious about the John Bolton thing. They really hung in there, even when Bush called them "obstructionists".

On another note, my teenage son spent the summer in Europe last year. He told me that EVERYBODY he came in contact with despises Bush. Everywhere they went, it was the same story. He just couldn't believe how hostile people were. Now, granted they stayed in youth hostels and only associated with young people, but still.

Even my son's two traveling buddies ended up hating Bush, even though they come from wealthy families, and their parents support Bush. No more.

11. No, just the opposite
Bush will make out well, as he always does with America's Republica-right corporate media propagandizing for him.

They'll talk about how Bush 'stands firm' with his choices and 'sticks by his principles' and 'wins again' and how he's proving that he's 'not a lame duck', etc etc etc.

America's establishment-journalism mills are destroying this country, covering for anything Republicans want to pillage and destroy. And they're not getting better, they're getting worse.
