How long can a recess appointment hold a position?
Will Bolton's appointment expire when the Senate returns from recess?

3. That's plenty of time for this jerk to do major damage.
Believe me, they've been putting the program together for some time now. All he needs is the authority and he's good to go.

7. His mission is to
make sure the Security Council won't find a peaceful solution to the Iran nuclear problem. I'm expecting the SC to deal with Iran's alleged weapons programme soon if the EU-3 can't come up with something this week that will convince Ahmedinejad to change his mind and not commence uranium processing at the Isfahan plant. The Iranians are removing the UN seal on the plant today as we type... which is probably why Bush was in such a rush to appoint Bolton that he couldn't even wait one day into the recess.

5. We should be out on the streets protesting this!
Just think of how much damage can be done between now and
January 2007! We must let the world know he is serving AGAINST ALL OUR WISHES -- a totally invalid appointment.

8. That's what I don't understand.
Why the hell should that rat fucker Bolton get a free ride for the next 1-1/2 years? A recess appointment should last until the Congress next convenes, not for the NEXT Congress.

Of course, miracles can happen (I hope) and the Dems could control Congress in 2007.

Yeah, right.

9. Congress
Even If we don't take the senate In 2006 we have a chance to move from 45 seats(Including Independent) to 48,or 49 seats. And that
would Increase the chances to outright vote no on Bolton.
